Abstract

Abstract

This community service program aims to increase the capacity and sustainability of Cilembu yam MSME players in Cilembu Village through structured training and mentoring. Activities began with six initial meetings involving 30 participants, mostly women aged 56-80 years old with basic education backgrounds. The training focused on digital technology and operational management, as well as new product development. Evaluation showed that the training successfully increased the use of digital technology from 72.26% to 85%, with a significant increase in the adoption of e-commerce platforms. Participation from younger age groups also increased from 13% to 20%, demonstrating the program's success in attracting the younger generation. Challenges related to productivity and marketing decreased, with productivity issues falling from 61.51% to 40% and marketing issues from 54.19% to 35%. The effectiveness of the training increased, with 90% of participants able to apply the training materials in their businesses. Support and communication from the implementation team was also rated as excellent, with responsiveness increasing to 95%. In conclusion, the program had a significant positive impact, but there are still challenges that need to be addressed in terms of productivity and marketing. It is recommended to focus on e-commerce technology capacity building, capital development, and product innovation, as well as strengthening ongoing mentoring to ensure the sustainability and development of MSMEs in the future

Abstract

The objective of this research is to develop a home security system that utilizes facial recognition technology using the Haar Cascade method and ESP32CAM. In the face of criminal threats, the importance of an effective home security system is increasing. The facial recognition method employed in this study is the Haar Cascade method, which utilizes specific facial features to identify individual identities. The ESP32CAM sensor is used as a camera to capture facial images of the home occupants. The research involves the process of collecting facial image data from the home occupants, which is then used to train the facial recognition model. Subsequently, the model is implemented in a home security system that is connected to the internet and equipped with motion sensors. When motion is detected, the ESP32CAM camera captures an image of the visitor's face and compares it with the previously identified facial data. If a match is found, the system grants access to the visitor. The research results demonstrate that the developed home security system achieves accurate facial recognition with a high success rate. Therefore, this system has the potential to enhance home security and provide better protection for its occupants

Abstract

Object detection models are pivotal for retail automation but require vast annotated datasets, which are costly and time-consuming to acquire. This creates a significant challenge in few-shot learning scenarios where data is scarce, leading to models with poor generalization. This study investigates strategies to overcome data limitations by training a YOLOv8 object detection model on a custom dataset of 152 retail product images across 28 classes. We conduct a comparative analysis of three training protocols: (1) a baseline model trained on the original data, (2) a model enhanced with advanced data augmentation techniques, and (3) a model supplemented with synthetically generated data. Performance is evaluated using mean Average Precision (mAP@50−95), Precision, and Recall. The synthetic data approach significantly outperformed the other methods, achieving the highest mAP@50−95 of 0.699 and the highest Recall of 0.856. While the data augmentation model yielded the highest Precision (0.875), its lower Recall (0.714) resulted in a suboptimal mAP. Furthermore, training with synthetic data demonstrated markedly faster and more stable convergence. Our findings indicate that for few-shot object detection in specialized domains like retail, supplementing training with synthetic data is a more effective strategy than relying solely on traditional augmentation.
