Abstract

This study examines the direct and indirect effects of work discipline on employee performance through job satisfaction at the Office of Navigation District Type A Class III Kendari. A quantitative explanatory design was applied to 99 civil servants using census sampling. Data were collected through a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS 4.0. The measurement model met convergent validity and reliability criteria, although discriminant validity indicated relatively high overlap among several constructs. The structural model showed that work discipline had positive and significant effects on job satisfaction (? = 0.839; p < 0.001) and employee performance (? = 0.485; p < 0.001). Job satisfaction also positively affected employee performance (? = 0.479; p = 0.001). The indirect effect was significant (? = 0.402; p < 0.001), confirming partial mediation. These findings highlight the importance of combining consistent work discipline with supportive conditions that strengthen employee job satisfaction.
