Abstract

This paper contains a study of the dynamics of Miṣbāḥ Muṣṭafa interpretation of the verses of the Qur’an in the theme of religious diversity in the interpretation of al-Iklīl fī Ma‘ānī al-Tanzīl. The dynamics are seen in the interpretation of the verse about the status of heresy and safety of non-Muslims in the hereafter. Besides explaining the interpretation of the issues related to the above problem, this paper also wants to explore further the interpretation of Miṣbā ḥ Muṣṭafā about religious diversity, which in its interpretation on one side of the mind is still relevant to the context of Indonesian social relations. But on the other hand it contradicts him. With the descriptive-explorative method, this paper discovers four principles of religious diversity in Tafsir al-Iklīl, namely: 1) diversity as sunnatullāh, as illustrated in the Misbah interpretation which believes in diversity such as Muslims and non-Muslims. 2) Islamic recognition of the existence of other religions, which is reflected in the absence of coercion in choosing religion as its belief. 3) the ability of non-Muslims to ask for protection from Muslims, and 4) religious tolerance, reflected in the absence of prohibitions to their followers to do good and fair to non-Muslims as long as they do not do bad and denounce the religion of Islam.

Abstract

Inter-religious relations have always been an interesting issue to study. On 1 November 2022 Religion Twenty (R20) was held in Bali involving religious leaders from around the world. This religious forum is a new step for all religious communities to establish good relations between religious communities so as to avoid divisions. This article aims to further explore the principles of inter-religious relations in the book of thematic interpretations by Muhammadiyah. This research is a type of library research. The results of this study indicate that there are three principles of inter-religious relations in the book of thematic interpretations by Muhammadiyah: 1) recognition of plurality and competition in goodness, 2) peaceful coexistence in inter-religious relations, and 3) justice and equality.

Abstract

Corak ilmi dalam tafsir menunjukkan adanya aspek-aspek yang mengandung unsur saintifik atau ilmiah dalam sebuah penafsiran. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena adanya corak ilmi pada kitab Tafsir Al-Qur’an Juz Qala Fama Khathbukum karya M. Yunan Yusuf. Sementara di beberapa penelitian terdahulu dikatakan bahwa penafsiran M. Yunan Yusuf itu bercorak al-adabi al-ijtima’i. Oleh karenanya disini penulis akan mengeksplor lebih jauh corak ilmi yang terdapat dalam kitab Tafsir Al-Qur’an Juz Qala Fama Khathbukum. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kualitatif kategori library research dengan menggunakan metode analisis-deskriptif dalam mengolah temuan-temuan data penelitian. Setelah dilakukan penelusuran dan analisis kemudian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa terdapat corak ilmi pada Tafsir Al-Qur’an Juz Qala Fama Khathbukum, meskipun tidak semua ayat dalam kitab tafsir tersebut diberikan penjelasan atau penafsiran secara ilmiah, akan tetapi corak ilmi ini terlihat pada penafsiran ayat-ayat kauniyah. Sebagaimana penafsiran pada QS. ar-Rahman [55]: 5-6 tentang Tingkatan Langit dan Bumi; QS. ar-Rahman [55]: 17 tentang Tempat Terbit dan Terbenam Matahari; QS. ar-Rahman [55]: 19-20 tentang Bertemunya Dua Lautan; QS. ar-Rahman [55]: 22-23 tentang Tempat Keluarnya Mutiara dan Marjan; QS. al-Waqi’ah [56]:57-62 tentang penciptaan manusia, dan QS. al-Hadid [57]: 4-6 tentang penciptaan bumi dan langit.

Abstract

The background of the author conducting this research is because calamity is an event that often occurs anywhere and anytime, whether it is due to human action or it is the will of God that cannot be avoided. The purpose of this study is to provide an in-depth discussion of the concept of calamity (musibah) in the Qur’an from the perspective of Tafsir al-Ibriz li Ma‘rifat Tafsir al-Qur’an al-‘Aziz by Bisri Mustofa, as well as to examine the relevance of his interpretations within the context of contemporary life. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method for data collection, which involves gathering and analyzing both primary and secondary sources from relevant foundational texts. The results of the data analysis then obtained conclusions, namely, first, calamity is interpreted as a bad event, danger and harm, this is illustrated by Bisri in his interpretation contained in 10 letters. Second, Bisri's interpretation is still relevant to the social context of society in Indonesia today.

Abstract

Program pendampingan ini dilaksanakan untuk membantu siswa dalam menghafal ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an yang berkaitan dengan materi thaharah (bersuci). Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kenyataan bahwa sebagian siswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam melafalkan ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an sesuai dengan kaidah tajwīd yang benar. Oleh karena itu, pendampingan ini dirancang untuk mendukung siswa dalam meningkatkan kemampuan hafalan mereka, khususnya pada ayat-ayat yang berkaitan dengan thaharah. Program ini menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR). Tahapan pelaksanaan dimulai dari perencanaan, yaitu dengan mengelompokkan siswa berdasarkan tingkat ketepatan dan kelancaran bacaan. Selanjutnya, dilakukan proses pendampingan hafalan secara terstruktur dan terbimbing, serta diakhiri dengan tahap evaluasi untuk menilai perkembangan kemampuan hafalan masing-masing siswa.Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dengan lancar dan sesuai dengan rencana awal. Respons dari masyarakat, yang diwakili oleh pihak Sekolah SDIT Al Asror, menunjukkan antusiasme dan dukungan yang sangat positif. Hal ini terlihat dari penerimaan, dukungan, partisipasi aktif, pelaksanaan, serta keterlibatan sekolah dalam proses evaluasi program.Hasil pendampingan menggunakan metode PAR menunjukkan bahwa: (1) siswa kelas V-B mengalami peningkatan kemampuan dalam menghafal ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an; (2) siswa menunjukkan antusiasme yang tinggi dengan tingkat peningkatan hafalan yang bervariasi; dan (3) program ini mampu meningkatkan motivasi siswa untuk mengulang dan menjaga hafalan yang telah dimiliki.

Abstract

Wasathiyyah is an Islamic teaching that directs its followers to be fair, balanced and proportional, or known as moderation in all aspects of life. The principles of Wasathiyyah in Islam are an important discourse to study, so that they become a true foundation in understanding the concept of Wasathiyyah. This study aims to further explore the Wasathiyyah principles from the perspective of Misbah Mustofa in the interpretation of Al-Iklīl Fī Ma'ānī Al-Tanzīl. This research is a type of library research and uses a descriptive-analytical method in analyzing the findings of the data. The conclusion obtained from the results of this study is that there are three principles of wasathiyyah in Islam. First, al-Wasat in QS. al-Baqarah [2]: 143; Second, al-Wazn in QS. al-Hadid [57]: 25. Third, al-'Adl in QS. al-A'raf [7]: 181. According to Misbah Mustofa these three principles have the same meaning, namely to behave and act fairly to all human beings without discriminating against race, class and religion. Abstract

This research is motivated by Bisri Mustofa's statement in tafsir al-Ibriz that one's faith and character must always go hand in hand. The focus of this study will discuss character education in QS. Luqman from the perspective of tafsir al-Ibriz. This research is a qualitative-descriptive research and is a type of library research. Based on the research results, the concept of character education in children in QS. Luqman [31] according to Bisri Mustofa in accordance with Javanese cultural values is that a child must be able to be a good child by (a) being grateful, (b) having faith, (c) being devoted to both parents, (d) doing good, (e) establishing prayer, (f) prohibition of arrogance, (g) being simple in speech and walking. Abstract

Interfaith marriage is no longer a new issue and is still interesting to study. This research is a type of literature research. While the research model is qualitative research and uses the comparative-analysis method for data analysis. After conducting the analysis, it was concluded that the sources of interpretation used by Muhammadiyah when interpreting the verses on interfaith marriage include: The Qur'an, hadith, companion and tabi'in narrations, reasoning (ijtihad), previous books of interpretation, and fiqh books. The method of interpretation used by Muhammadiyah is the thematic method with the style of al-A>da>b al-Ijtima>'i (social-community). While the validity of the interpretation of the verses of interfaith marriage after being tested with three theories of truth, the results are obtained: 1) According to the coherence theory, Muhammadiyah's interpretation is considered incorrect because it is inconsistent in conveying propositions through the logic of its thinking and inconsistent between the contextual approach used in the interpretation explained in the "Preface" with the practice of interpretation. 2) Based on correspondence theory Muhammadiyah is considered lacking in applying the theory. 3) Meanwhile, according to the theory of pragmatism, Muhammadiyah's interpretation is considered incorrect because it cannot provide answers to the problems faced by Indonesian society today. Abstract

This research is motivated by the debate on the meaning of al-qawa>mah among the mufassirs, which makes it an excuse for the absoluteness of male leadership over women. This view has legitimised the role of women as leaders. In this case, Muhammad Abduh believes that leadership is not absolute for men because fadhl (the ability to earn a living) can also be done by women. Therefore, the focus of this study is on Muhammad Abduh's concept of al-qawa>mah in QS. an-Nisa'[4]: 34. The method used by the author is a descriptive-analytical method with a historical-sociological approach. Based on the results of the analysis, it is concluded that Muhammad Abduh's interpretation of the memorisation of al-qawa>mah is not absolute for men, because the form of male leadership over women in question is democratic leadership, namely leadership that gives the led the freedom to act according to their will and not leadership that is coercive. Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) dengan metode service learning jenis direct service (pelayanan langsung) ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an yang ‘Amm dan Khass sekaligus memberikan pemahaman terhadap kandungan ayat-ayat tersebut melalui penggunaan media belajar tebak ayat menggunakan kartu bagi siswa MA Al Kautsar Durenan Trenggalek. Pelaksana kegiatan PKM adalah dua orang dosen dan melibatkan dua mahasiswa Program Studi Ilmu Al-Qur’an dan Tafsir. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 16 Mei 2023. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan memberikan pelatihan menggunakan media pembelajaran flash card dengan memilih salah satu kartu yang didalamnya sudah terdapat satu ayat Al-Qur’an yang ‘Amm ataupun Khass. Hasil Kegiatan PkM menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan PkM ini dapat memperkaya pengetahuan siswa terkait ayat-ayat ‘amm dan khass dalam Al-Qur’an serta meningkatkan motivasi siswa untuk belajar Al-Qur’an serta ilmu-ilmu lain yang berkaitan dengannya, seperti ulumul Qur’an. Selain itu kegiatan PkM ini memberikan isnpirasi kepada pendidik MA Al Kautsar untuk memberikan pembelajaran yang kreatif, inovatif, dan menyenangkan. Kata Kunci: Kandungan Al-Qur’an, ‘Amm dan Khass, Siswa MA Al Kautsar
