Abstract

Javanese-Madurese people are known for their diversity of traditions. Drinking Aing Rahmat is one of the most valuable traditions for the local community. This research gave rise to the beginning of the tradition of Drinking Aing Rahmat, including those related to the value of religious harmony, the benefits of drinking aing, and public perceptions of drinking water. This research uses field studies (Field Research). This study has not been published in previous scientific studies. From this Title focuses on three aspects, (1) What is the history of the tradition of drinking Aing Rahmat. (2) What are the implications of people's perceptions of drinking Aing Rahmat. Results of the study. (3) What are the implications of people's perception of drinking Aing Rahmat. Results of the study, (1) The behavior of the Aing rahmat drinking tradition upholds tolerance, equality, and mutual cooperation in all walks of life with different religious backgrounds. (2) The benefits of drinking Aing Rahmat have three properties: Mahabbah (Paniser), Syifa' (medicine), Katekquen (strength). (3) The implication of the perception of society in accordance with the context of the hadith (Dominant Reading), if there is a hadith message then the community agrees to the hadith (Oppositional Reading), but the community rejects the hadith Negotiated Reading.
