Abstract

Grandparenting merupakan pengasuhan yang dilakukan oleh kakek dan nenek (opung), grandparenting masih kerap terjadi pada etnik Batak Toba. Sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan secara mendalam “grandparenting dalam keluarga etnik Batak Toba”. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan sumber data primer dan sekunder. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa grandparenting yang dilakukan oleh etnik Batak Toba menggunakan jenis pola asuh permisif dan demokratis selanjutnya grandparenting ini termasuk dalam tipe involved. Opung juga menanamkan nilai dan moral, pelestarian budaya serta menjadi pengganti orang tua bagi pahoppu. Pada temuan penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa grandparenting ini tidak selamanya berdampak negative dalam proses pengasuhan.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the phenomenon of phubbing in one of the State Campus environments in the Pancing Area of Medan and its impact on students. Phubbing, or the act of ignoring people around because of being too focused on smartphones, is a special concern in the context of social interaction on campus. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive analytical method to explore more deeply how phubbing occurs in the campus environment and how the situation affects the social, academic, and psychological lives of students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and field documentation. The results of the study indicate that there is a Phubbing Phenomenon in the campus environment in a study conducted at one of the state campuses in the Pancing Area of Medan. The Phubbing situation affects the quality of students' social interactions, can hinder students' concentration in thinking, and has the potential to create social isolation and emotional gaps among students. This study is expected to provide insight into the development of policies and strategies to reduce the negative impacts of phubbing in the campus environment

Abstract

This study describes the value of money in the Malay children's swing tradition.This swing remains a Malay tradition to this day. In this study, researchers discovered the problem of the relationship between the value of money and the swinging tradition of the Malay people. The purpose of this study is to describe that parents prioritize their children's education and continue the tradition of rocking their children when they have grown up and the parents have enough finances, which is characteristic of the Ma ethnic group. Lai with the value of money in the lives of Malays, they can ensure the education of children and carry out the swinging process at any time, while maintaining the cultural value of carrying out the traditions tradition among the Malay community, especially in Sukarame village, Kualuh Hulu district, Labuhan Batu North Regent. The method used in this study is a qualitative method using descriptive analysis. The data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviewing, and note-taking. During the procession, the Malay tradition of swinging children is carried out in a series of events. The sequence begins with Barzanji, where a child swings on a rope, along with Marhaban, distributes flour, distributes potpourri flowers to those who have come to attend the event and ends with a prayer.
