Abstract

This research aims to find out whether there are differences in students' computational thinking with conventional problem-based learning models based on Batak culture (PBM-B3). This research is a quasi-experimental research. The model used in this research is a problem-based learning model based on Batak culture with research subjects of 46 class VIII students at SMP Advent 23 Medan. The object of this research is students' computational thinking abilities. The results of the research show that there are differences in computational thinking abilities between students who were given learning based on problems based on Batak culture and students who were given direct learning. Descriptively, the post-test average for experiment 1 was 86.96, while experiment 2 was 78.04. Based on the normalized index obtained, it was found that in trial II there was an increase in students' computational thinking abilities by 0.25.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi dan membandingkan karakteristik organoleptik kombucha yang difermentasi menggunakan tiga jenis bahan dasar: teh hitam, teh hijau, dan bunga telang (Clitoria ternatea). Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimental laboratorium dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Proses fermentasi dilakukan selama 8 hari pada suhu ruang dengan penambahan gula 10% sebagai sumber karbon bagi kultur pemula SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast). Pengujian organoleptik (uji hedonik) melibatkan 15 panelis tidak terlatih yang menilai parameter warna, aroma, rasa, sensasi karbonasi, dan penerimaan keseluruhan menggunakan skala 1 hingga 5. Data hasil kuesioner dianalisis secara deskriptif berdasarkan perhitungan nilai rata-rata (mean). Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga sampel dapat diterima dengan baik oleh panelis tanpa adanya penolakan. Kombucha teh hitam meraih tingkat penerimaan keseluruhan yang paling konsisten (rata-rata ~4,1), disusul oleh kombucha bunga telang (~4,1) yang unggul secara signifikan pada parameter visual (warna ungu dari pigmen antosianin) dan mendapatkan penilaian "sangat suka" terbanyak secara individu. Kombucha teh hijau menyusul dengan nilai rata-rata 3,8 yang dipengaruhi oleh profil keasaman yang lebih dominan. Kesimpulannya, inovasi pemanfaatan bunga telang sangat berpotensi untuk dikembangkan lebih lanjut sebagai minuman fungsional komersial karena memiliki daya tarik estetika visual dan keseimbangan profil rasa yang sangat diminati

Abstract

The development of the Pancasila Student Profile is one of the primary goals of implementing the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia. One strategy to support this goal is integrating environmental education with English language learning at the elementary school level. This community service activity aimed to strengthen students' character based on the dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile through environment-based English learning at SD Abdi Sukma. The program was implemented using a participatory learning approach that included material presentation, group discussions, English vocabulary practice related to environmental topics, environmental observation, and simple school clean-up activities. The results showed that students demonstrated a better understanding of environmental conservation, improved their English vocabulary related to environmental issues, and developed positive values such as cooperation, responsibility, creativity, and environmental awareness. These findings indicate that environment-based English learning is an effective strategy for improving students' English language skills while fostering the character values embodied in the Pancasila Student Profile at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Abstract : The transformation of basic education in rural areas is a significant challenge in achieving equitable quality learning. Bangun Sari Baru Village, Tanjung Morawa, as a fostered village, still faces limitations in the use of educational technology, while its potential local wisdom has not been fully integrated into the teaching and learning process. This community service program aims to provide innovative solutions through the integration of simple educational technology and local wisdom to improve the quality of learning while maintaining the community's cultural identity. The method used is a community-based participatory approach with stages of socialization, teacher and student training, development of digital learning media, and the application of local wisdom values in the thematic curriculum. The results of the activity show an increase in teacher skills in using digital media, increased student motivation and understanding of the teaching material, and the formation of synergy between modern technology and local cultural practices in learning. In conclusion, the integration of technology and local wisdom not only strengthens the effectiveness of learning but also fosters students' cultural awareness, thus creating a contextual, adaptive, and sustainable basic education model in the fostered village. Keywords : Transformation, basic education; technology; local wisdom; fostered villages Abstrak:  Transformasi pendidikan dasar di wilayah pedesaan menjadi tantangan yang penting dalam mewujudkan pemerataan kualitas pembelajaran. Desa Bangun Sari Baru Tanjung Morawa sebagai desa binaan masih menghadapi keterbatasan dalam pemanfaatan teknologi pendidikan, sementara potensi kearifan lokal yang dimiliki belum sepenuhnya terintegrasi dalam proses belajar mengajar. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan solusi inovatif melalui integrasi teknologi pendidikan sederhana dan kearifan lokal agar dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran sekaligus mempertahankan identitas budaya masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif berbasis masyarakat dengan tahapan sosialisasi, pelatihan guru dan siswa, pengembangan media pembelajaran digital, serta penerapan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal dalam kurikulum tematik. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan guru dalam menggunakan media digital, peningkatan motivasi dan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi ajar, serta terbentuknya sinergi antara teknologi modern dan praktik budaya lokal dalam pembelajaran. Kesimpulannya, integrasi teknologi dan kearifan lokal tidak hanya memperkuat efektivitas pembelajaran tetapi juga menumbuhkan kesadaran budaya siswa sehingga tercipta model pendidikan dasar yang kontekstual, adaptif, dan berkelanjutan di desa binaan. Kata Kunci: Transformasi, pendidikan_dasar; teknologi; kearifan_lokal; desa_binaan

Abstract

Porang tubers, scientifically known as Amorphophallus muelleri Blume, have shown that they possess compounds like alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. Because of this, researchers are looking closely at porang tubers to see how they can fight bacterial growth. Among the bacteria being investigated are Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis, as scientists search for new treatments for skin infections. Aim of reserach to assess how effective the antibacterial properties are and to analyze how different levels of extract concentration affect the growth of Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis. The method used for testing involved a paper disc diffusion technique with extract concentrations of 5, 15, 25, 35, and 45%, as well as Clindamycin and 10% DMSO. The findings revealed that the ethanol extract from porang tubers displayed antibacterial effects at concentrations ranging from 5% to 45%, resulting in inhibition zones of 9. 65 mm to 13. 56 mm against Propionibacterium acnes. Additionally, it showed inhibition zones of 9. 95 mm to 16. 07 mm against Staphylococcus epidermidis in the same concentration range. According to the One Way Anova test, the results showed a significant difference indicating that varying concentrations of the ethanol extract from porang tubers greatly influenced the growth of both Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis. The ethanol extract of porang tubers begins to show antibacterial effects at a minimum concentration of 5% against both Propionibacterium acnes and Staphylococcus epidermidis, with observable differences in the average inhibition zones for each concentration tested.
