Abstract

The final project is a graduation requirement for students and the quality of the lecturer-student relationship significantly impacts its successful completion. Several studies have shown that the satisfaction of students in their relationship with lecturers is majorly influenced by family function, but there is limited data on this association.. Therefore, this study aims to examine the mediating role of positive youth development in the effect of family function on the lecturer-student relationship. A quantitative explanatory approach  was used and the sample population consisted of 171 active students in the 8th to 14th semester of the undergraduate program at University X. The instruments used included the Positive Youth Development (PYD), family function, and lecturer-student relationship scales. The hypothesis was tested with the mediation analysis model 4 using the SPSS Process Hayes V.4 program. The results showed that PYD partially mediated the effect of family function on the lecturer-student relationship. Furthermore, the indirect effect of family function was only significant through the mediation of prosocial norm, belief in future, and recognition for positive behavior.

Abstract

Sexual violence against children has a detrimental impact on children's physical and psychological health in the short and long term. Sexual violence victims have several risks related to personal and environmental characteristics. The family is the closest factor that should be a protective factor from sexual violence. However, a low social economy can cause children to become victims of these actions. This research aims to describe the family function of child sexual violence victims. Three respondents aged between 9 and 20 years who experienced child sexual violence were involved in interviews and observations after signing informed consent. Interviews using guidelines explored experiences of sexual violence and aspects of family functioning. Research data was analyzed using thematic analysis. The results showed that the three respondents had parents in marital conflicts and attacked each other. Their mother was too busy helping earn a living, so she paid little attention to the respondent's physical and psychological needs. Being physically separated caused the subject not to have emotional closeness with the mother. The mother infrequently communicated with and was violent towards the subject. Parents do not fulfill attention, affection, support, and appreciation. Parents do not socialize enough about life values. There are no strict rules at home and lack of supervision regarding the respondent's activities.

Abstract

Drug abuse is an unlawful act that causes detrimental effects. Abusers need rehabilitation to overcome these effects and prevent relapse. However, rehabilitation programs do not guarantee that individuals will completely stop abusing drugs. One of the factors that influences the intention to relapse is coping strategies. On the other hand, attitudes, norms, and behavioral control regarding drug abuse determine the relapse intention. This research examines the role of attitudes, norms, and behavioral control in assessing the influence of coping strategies on relapse intentions. A total of 60 residents who had relapsed at least once and were undergoing rehabilitation for at least 2 months at the North Sumatra BNN were involved in this research. The research tools are coping strategies and relapse intention scales, tested for validity and reliability. Research data was analyzed using a moderation test with Jamovi software version 2.0. The results show that coping strategies does not influence relapse intentions directly. Attitudes towards drug abuse, subjective norms, and behavioral control significantly increase the negative influence of coping strategies on relapse intentions. Residents who believe drugs are detrimental, feel the environment prohibits abusing them, believe there is little chance of abusing them, and have adaptive coping skills will have a low intention to relapse. The results are advantageous in relapse prevention programs for abusers so that they focus more on cultivating attitudes, norms, and self-efficacy that support abstinence decisions
