Abstract

Access to sports education is a fundamental aspect of creating an equitable sporting culture, yet many underprivileged youth in Indonesia remain excluded from these opportunities. This paper explores the barriers to sports education for low-income and rural youth, examining the systemic inequalities that prevent them from participating in athletic programs. It looks at issues such as limited access to sports facilities, lack of trained coaches, and inadequate school programs in disadvantaged areas. The study also assesses how these disparities perpetuate cycles of inequality in sports, reducing opportunities for talent development and professional advancement. The paper advocates for inclusive sports policies that ensure all youth, regardless of socioeconomic background, have access to quality sports education. Additionally, it explores community-based models of sports education as a potential solution to bridge the gap.
