Abstract

There many methods of English language learners especially for advanced students to gain their target language based on some theories of concept and elements of the language learned in the academic need. In fact that it is arguable to think there is only the best one of the various methods to master the language well. Certainly it will become a meaningful choice for them which one is to be the best one to do that is suitable in their daily life. In Indonesia, the English learners have to realize that English is as a foreign language since it is not used in daily communication beside mother language such as Malaysia, Singapore, India and so on that the people use English in their daily life as a second language. Therefore they have to find the best method of how to master English well through many kinds of current useful methods stated by some newest experts and competent learners in English or other language than can be alternative choices of the best method English learners especially advanced Students of English, Vocabulary mastery is an essential part in foreign language learning as the meanings of new words are very often emphasized, whether in book, in classrooms and out of the classroom. It is also central to language learning of four skills of English and is of paramount importance to language learners. In this article, I summarizes significance of a bunch of various methods used by some experts who have been involved in the field of English or other foreign languages that will be able to be a choice to do of how to master vocabulary well and grab their target language of how to be successful language learners as advanced students of English.

Abstract

Pada kegiatan belajar mengajar banyak faktor yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan siswa terhadap materi pembelajaran sesuai dengan mata pelajaran yang diberikan oleh guru di kelas. Beberapa faktor tersebut diantaranya adalah guru sebagai fasilator dan proses kegiatan pembelajaran. Proses kegiatan pembelajaran akan menjadi penentu keberhasilan apabila dalam proses kegiatan pembelajaran tersebut siswa dapat merasakan susasana pembelajaran yang menarik sehingga siswa lebih mudah memahami materi yang sedang dipelajarai.Dalam proses kegiatan pembelajaran tersebut media penunjang pembelajaran dapat menentukan keberhasilan dalam penguasaan materi yang diberikan, karena dengan media pembelajaran siswa bisa memperoleh penjelasan lebih menarik dan suasana yang menyenangkan sehingga memotivasi siswa untuk lebih bersemangat memahami materi yang siswa pelajari. Dalam kegiatan pembelajaran dengan adanya pembelajaran dengan lisan dan tulisan akan lebih menarik dan mempermudah siswa memahami materi dapat diperkaya dengan berbagai media pembelajaran . Dengan tersedianya , guru dapat menciptakan berbagai situasi kelas, menentukan yang akan dipakai dalam situasi yang berlainan dan menciptakan iklim yang emosional yang sehat antar siswa. Selanjutnya guru dapat membawa dunia luar yang berkaitan materi pengajaran ke dalam kelas melalui media pembelajaran yang diberikan siswa tersebut .Dengan demikian pemahaman, konsep dan ide yang abstrak dan asing sifatnya menjadi konkrit dan mudah dimengerti oleh peserta didik. Bila alat/media pembelajaran ini dapat di fungsikan secara tepat dan proforsional, maka akan dapat berjalan efektif. Dengan demikian peran guru selain penguasaan materi yang baik juga terus aktif dalam dalam mengembangkan media pembeljaran sesuai dengan materi yang disampaikan sehingga tujuan penguasaan materi bisa efektif sesuai dengan tujuan pendidikan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the enhancing of students’ writing achievement using clustering technique .The usage of this technique is expected that the students’ achievement in writing skill can increase. The clustering technique used in writing learning of this study uses argumentative essays using various topics in accordance with the focusing understanding and making the essays of writing courses for the fourth semester students, at English Education Program of STKIP PGRI Nganjuk in the academic year of 2017/2018. The total number of students is 18 students . The increasing in students’ achievement can be known by the analysis the result score in this study by using the classroom action research that is intended to find out that the clustering technique can help the students improve and develop their ability in writing skill. The grand of mean score test in preliminary study was 70,5 and cycle I was 75, while the grand mean score in cycle 2 was 87 which showed this present study could be categorized successful because it had exceeded the minimum criteria of writing III.

Abstract

This research paper investigates the effectiveness of word wall technique on the students’ vocabulary mastery at the eleventh grade of SMK NU Pace in the academic year of 2019/2020. The objectives of the research are (1) To find the students’ vocabulary mastery before using word wall technique, (2) To find the students’ vocabulary mastery after using word wall technique, (3) To analyze the significant difference before and after using word wall technique of students’ vocabulary mastery. The reseach is Pre-Experimental with one group pre-test post-test. the reseach was done in SMK NU Pace in acadaemic year of 2019-2020, by using the population whole class XI with the total 248 students, while the sample is used by the reseacher is the class XI-I involving number of class is 28 students. The technique of sampling is using purposive sampling. The collecting data used test. The technique of analysis data used to analyze the data in this reseach is statistical analysis data t-test. Based on the result of the test, students show the score – average pre-test 48,78 and post-test 72,64. The category is good. Based on the results of analysis level significance in d.b 5% is 27 value table is 1,703 and value of t-test is 13,007. It can be concluded as follow: ttest > ttable so, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So that, “There is significant difference before and after using word wall technique of students’ vocabulary mastery at the Eleventh Grade Students’ of SMK NU Pace in the 2019/2020 Academic Year”. Contributing the significant result of using word wall technique towards vocabulary mastery is discussed in this paper.

Abstract

Abstract The purpose of research is to find out comptence of students’ vocabulary mastery before and after taught by using elicitation technique and to find out the effectiveness of using elicitation technique before and after in students’ vocabulary mastery at the third semester of English Language Education STKIP PGRI Nganjuk . The methodology of research is experimental research, one group pre-test post-test design. The research was conducted at STKIP PGRI Nganjuk, at the academic year of 2020/2021 by using the samples at the third semester of English Language Education class by number of class is 26 students. In completing the research, the technique of data collection used test. Analysis of the data is used t-test. Based on the table above it could be seen that tcount had greater than ttable at level of significant. tcount is 11, 47 an ttable on the significant level of 5% is 2.04523. Based on the results of analysis that tcount > ttable there is effectiveness to develop the students’ vocabulary mastery before and after being taught using elicitation technique at the third semester of English Language Education STKIP PGRI Nganjuk at the 2020/2021 academic year. The hypothesis is Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. That is : “ There is effectiveness between teaching vocabulary using Elicitation Technique and teaching vocabulary without using Elicitation Technique to enhance students’ vocabulary mastery at the third semester of English Language Education STKIP PGRI Nganjuk at the 2020/2021 academic year.

Abstract

Most of the students got low scores in reading and understanding the material in online classes, this situation should be attention to Merdeka Curriculum. Most of the students lack interest in learning reading in an online class, because the learning methods in reading did not attract students, so the students had difficulty in answering explicit and implicit questions in reading comprehension. The purpose of this research is to determine the significant differences before and after using the brain mapping method in students' reading comprehension. This research designed as quantitative research that used one group pre-test and post-test design. sample amounted to 35 students. Collecting data used documentation and reading comprehension tests which were analyzed using Paired T-test with the help of SPSS 18 for Windows and N-Gain using Microsoft Excel. The post-test average learning outcome (77,29) was greater than the pretest (69.00). The results of the paired t-test showed the significance value (2-tailed) was 0.000 means there was significant effectiveness before and after using the Brain Mapping method toward Blogger as the online media for learning reading. The results of N-Gain showed the students’ learning outcomes improved from 35 students, 21 (60%) students got improvement in the medium category and 14 (40%) students got improvement in the low category. Brain mapping method combined with rewards and interesting materials can improve student achievement where students are more active and enthusiastic in the online teaching and learning process.,
