Mapping flood-prone areas is an important part of flood mitigation in the study area. Lahat Regency, South Sumatra Province, is crossed by the Lematang River and has experienced flash floods caused by several contributing factors. This research aims to identify flood vulnerability levels using Geographic Information System (GIS) technology based on six parameters: rainfall, slope, land elevation, land use, river buffer, and geological map. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to assign weights to multiple parameters and support flood vulnerability assessment. The results of the flood vulnerability analysis in Lahat Regency are classified into five categories: very low, low, moderate, high, and very high. Based on the classification results, the spatial distribution of flood vulnerability levels in the study area is dominated by the low vulnerability class (68.78%), followed by moderate (18.35%), very low (10.27%), high (2.51%), and very high vulnerability levels (0.09%). Areas classified as high to very high vulnerability are predominantly located around river basins, where the risk of water overflow increases during periods of intense and sustained rainfall. These regions are generally characterized by low elevation and flat slopes, factors that significantly contribute to their elevated flood risk. Based on the flood vulnerability analysis, the highest percentage of flood-prone area is found in Kikim Timur Sub-district, indicating it as the most vulnerable region within Lahat Regency. This study provides spatial information that can inform more effective flood mitigation and land-use planning in Lahat Regency.
