Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Stunting is a condition where a child experiences growth failure that occurs in the body and brain due to long-term malnutrition which results in the child being shorter than normal children of his age. The latest data also shows that around 9 million Indonesian toddlers are currently stunted. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between family behavior and the risk of stunting in toddlers in RT 64, Kelurahan 16 Ulu, Seberang Ulu IIPalembang District in 2023. Methodology: The research method used was an analytical survey with a cross sectional design. The number of samples in the study was 32 respondents. Furthermore, the data that has been collected is processed and analyzed using the Chi-Square statistical test with a significance level (p<0.05). In the results: the Chi-Square statistical test showed that there was a significant relationship between knowledge (p=0.038), attitudes (p=0.034), and actions (p=0.012) with the risk of stunting in RT 64 sub-district 16 Ulu, Seberang Ulu II District. Conclusion: This research shows that family knowledge, attitudes and actions are related to the risk of stunting. It is hoped that future researchers will examine the relationship between family behavior and the incidence of stunting in toddlers with different designs and research methods.

Abstract

Food is a type of food that is very well known and commonly consumed by the public, including school children. Data (WHO) on the nutritional status of children in the world with a prevalence of emaciation of around 13.9%, obesity of >340 million people. Riskesdas in 2018 for children aged 5-12 years based on the BMI/U index with a thin nutritional status of 6.8% and an obesity nutritional status of 9.2%. Riskesdas for South Sumatra Province in 2018, the prevalence of nutritional status of children aged 5-12 years was based on the BMI/U index with the nutritional status of thin children at 6.26% and the nutritional status for obesity at 9.08%. Meanwhile, based on Palembang City data, the BMI/U index for the nutritional status of thin children is 6.88% and the nutritional status of obese children is 11.59%. Snacks that are not guaranteed to be clean can cause digestive disorders and poisoning. To determine the relationship between food consumption and the nutritional status of school-aged children. His research used a descriptive analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The number of research respondents was 169 students. The research instrument used was a Semi Quantitative Form-FFQ questionnaire with interview and questionnaire methods taken at one time. The research carried out was located at SD 3 Muhammadiyah Palembang in March 2024. The variables explained included the characteristics of the respondents (age, parents' education, parents' occupation and nutritional status of the respondents). The research data used for statistical tests was the Spearman Correlation analysis test. Research Results: There is a relationship between food consumption and the nutritional status of school-aged children (p value 0.000 < 0.05). The higher the frequency of food consumption, the risk of obesity in school-aged children will increase. Abstract

Latar belakang: Gizi merupakan salah satu faktor utama penentu kualitas hidup serta sumber daya manusia. Zat gizi yang baik dapat ditentukan oleh jenis makanan yang bergizi yang telah ditentukan untuk kebutuhan tubuh masing-masing. Makanan jajanan khas Palembang ini tinggi akan zat gizi makro sehingga jika dikonsumsi sesuai dengan kebutuhan tubuh maka makanan jajanan khas Palembang dapat memenuhi kebutuhan zat gizi makro pada manusia. Zat gizi makro terdiri dari (Energi,protein,lemak dan karbohidrat). Tujuan Penelitian: Untuk mengetahui hubungan pengaruh penyuluhan gizi tentang kandungan zat gizi makro pada makanan jajanan khas Palembang terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap mahasiswi IKesT Muhammadiyah Palembang. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini menggunakan Pre Eksperimental dengan rancangan one group pre test dan post test design. Menggunakan uji paired T-tes dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu total sampling. Jumlah responden pada penelitian ini adalah 69 responden. Hasil Penelitian: hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa di dapatkan nilai pengetahuan output pair 1 diperoleh nilai sig sebesar 0,000<0,05 dan nilai sikap output pair 1 diperoleh nilai sig sebesar 0,000<0,05 artinya terdapat perbedaan rata-rata tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap responden sebelum dan sesudah diberikan penyuluhan tentang kandungan zat gizi makro pada makanan jajanan khas Palembang. Kesimpulan: karakteristik responden berdasarkan usia sebagiam besar ≥ 19 tahun sebanyak 95,7%. Terdapat pengaruh penyuluhan gizi menggunakan metode Makanan asli, leaflet dan power point terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap mahasiswi IKesT Muhammadiyah Palembang setelah diberikan penyuluhan.
