Abstract

Amar ma'ruf nahi munkar is Allah's command to all of us Muslims. As whatever we are wherever we are in whatever position we are. We can fulfil amar ma'ruf nahi munkar according to our abilities, for those who have power through their power, for those who are able to with their mouths then with their tongues, even for those who are unable to do even the smallest amount are still exposed to khat to fulfil with their hearts. Through this research, the author aims to find out how the effectiveness of da'wah that sees from the side of the need and the need for a touch of qolbu through spiritual education as a solution to build basic human awareness (fitroh) individually and socially, which is packaged in accordance with the development of modern times today, which is carried out at Majelis Taklim Sabilu Taubah to marginalised communities. In discussing this research, the author uses a qualitative approach with descriptive characteristics. The da'wah activities at the Sabilu Taubah Ta'lim were founded by Kyai Agus Muhammad Iqdam Kholid or commonly called Gus Iqdam. In this ta'lim assembly, it is very unique unlike other Ta'lim assemblies because the congregation of this ta'lim assembly is mostly from marginalised communities. From this research it can be concluded that the da'wah activities carried out at Majelis Taklim Sabilu Taubah are very effective and appropriate in this modern era by looking at (1) the enthusiasm of the audience following the da'wah study is getting higher and higher (increasing), (2) the dialogical approach taken makes the audience very interested, because there are elements of problem solving and rewards for economic em powerment, (3) the contextuality of the media according to the times so that it makes the audience interested not boring, and (4. the method of delivering spirituality planting material that is relaxed so that it can reach the audience.

Abstract

This paper aims to explore more deeply the clustering of society in the understanding of Islam. Clifford Geertz's clustering or classification of society in his previous research, as an initial reference to look at the development of the era until now. This clustering, if seen carefully, is still strongly felt in modern society today. So the author tries to detect back from previous research to the symptoms that occur today. This research uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The main literature is Clifford Geertz's research in his book The Religion of Java. By reviewing the book, the author found a clustering or classification of people in East Java about the understanding of Islam divided into 3 (three), namely: (1). the abangan, (2). the santri, and (3). the priyayi. By looking at the clustering of society according to Clifford Geertz's perspective, which is then used as a basic theory to look at modern society today, it turns out that there is still no change. In society, this clustering is still felt indirectly. There is still a group that is the object of preaching as the abangan, there is a group of santri as preachers and also the priyayi or officials. Which starts from the seat will be made different, both quality and position. Then from there are certain areas that can only be accessed by certain groups. Based on this theory, we can also observe shifts in the social and spiritual values of modern Javanese society. Specifically, regarding the traditions of slametan, religious study circles, and mosques, which have been central to Javanese society since ancient times. There have been several shifts in the values of the slametan tradition, namely a shift from communal-symbolic values to functional-practical values. The symbolic meaning of culture has begun to fade. In the general pengajian tradition, as a means of religious education, there has been a shift from face-to-face, charismatic values to digital, informative values. The style of religious communication has become more informal, audiovisual, and entertaining. Mosques, as social-spiritual centres, have shifted from being collective social-spiritual centres to formal spiritual symbols. Young people are beginning to distance themselves from physical religious activities.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to investigate the strategies employed by Diponegoro University in Islamic Religious Education to counteract radicalism. Additionally, it seeks to analyze the factors that either support or hinder these strategies. Employing a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, this research involves data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis follows a descriptive process encompassing data reduction, data presentation, and the formulation of conclusions. Diponegoro University has adopted a multi-faceted strategy to combat radicalism, which includes the formation of a specialized anti-radicalism team known as TIMARU. This initiative is undertaken collaboratively with various stakeholders. Moreover, the university has devised a comprehensive curriculum aimed at countering radical ideologies. This curriculum is further fortified by organizing public lectures, seminars, and Forum Group Discussions addressing topics related to national identity and anti-radicalism. To engage students, the university also provides avenues for the expression of talents and interests through extracurricular activities. Several factors contribute significantly to the success of these strategies at Diponegoro University. These include access to adequate facilities and infrastructure, a proficient team of human resources, strong collaboration among all segments of the academic community, and the implementation of a comprehensive strategy. Furthermore, the existence of a specialized team dedicated to countering radicalism has proven instrumental in these efforts. However, certain obstacles persist, including the absence of a technical team in the field, lengthy and intricate regulations, and an unstructured hidden curriculum.In summary, this research delves into the strategies employed by Diponegoro University's Islamic Religious Education to combat radicalism. It underscores the multifaceted nature of these strategies, including the establishment of TIMARU, comprehensive curricular initiatives, and extracurricular activities. While the university benefits from various supporting factors, challenges such as the absence of a technical team and complex regulations remain to be addressed.
