Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect and interaction of composting and sulfur to changes in the macro nutrients in the soil saline Entisols Sidondo also to know the growth of maize ( Zea mays L ) in saline soil conditions by granting the application of compost and sulfur. The research was conducted from January to March 2016 , samples were collected from the ground in the village Sidondo, District Dolo, Biromaru Sigi regency, Central Sulawesi Province. Implementation of the experiment was conducted at the Experimental Farm, located in the Village Mamboro Western District of North Palu Palu City and analysis of soil and plant tissue analysis conducted at the Laboratory of Nature and Natural Resources and Environment, Faculty of Agriculture, University Tadulako, Palu. This research is compiled in a Complete Randoised Design (CRD) with 8 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments used are: Po= 0 ton ha-1, P1= compost 20 tons ha-1, P2= compost 40 tons ha-1, P3= compost 60 tons ha-1, So= 0 kg S ha-1, S1= Sulfur 200 kg S ha-1, S2= Sulfur 300 kg S ha-1, S3= Sulfur 400 kg S ha-1. Research shows the interaction between compost and sulfur real impact on the C-organic, nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K). While the C / N no interaction Treatment dosage of 60 tons ha-1, compost gives the highest yield on the uptake and concentration of N and P in plant tissues of maize while giving high sulfur results in a dose of 300 kg S ha-1.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the interaction Award kirinyu Bokashi (Chromolaena odorata L.) with increasing doses of various soil layers into terhadapat activity Hg in soil solution and plant uptake. This research has been carried out glass house Department of Agriculture Faculty of Agriculture, University Tadulako. This research was made up of two factors in a factorial design with environmental design is the design of each perlukuan repeated 3 times. Sehinggah which there are 3 x 4 x 3 = 36 experimental units. The parameters observed in the study is the analysis of the soil after harvest includes an analysis of soil chemical properties include C-organic, CEC, pH, Hg soil and Hg plant tissue This study also shows that, with the provision of Bokashi kirinyu on Waste Tailings very significant effect on the concentration of mercury in soil and plant tissue and soil reaction or pH of the soil, and the C-Organic Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC).

Abstract

Acidic mineral soils are one of the major constraints to peanut cultivation due to the low availability of phosphorus (P), which is caused by fixation with aluminum and iron. Humic acid has the potential to improve phosphorus fertilizer efficiency by enhancing soil chemical properties, thereby increasing phosphorus availability and uptake by plants. This study aimed to evaluate the interaction between humic acid and phosphorus fertilizer on cation exchange capacity (CEC), phosphorus concentration, phosphorus uptake, and selected soil chemical properties in peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) cultivated on acidic mineral soil. The experiment was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) using a factorial pattern consisting of two factors. The first factor was humic acid dosage: A0 (0 kg ha⁻¹), A1 (10 kg ha⁻¹), A2 (25 kg ha⁻¹), and A3 (35 kg ha⁻¹). The second factor was phosphorus fertilizer dosage: P0 (0 kg ha⁻¹), P1 (150 kg ha⁻¹), P2 (300 kg ha⁻¹), and P3 (450 kg ha⁻¹). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by the Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) test at the 5% significance level. The results showed a significant interaction between humic acid and phosphorus fertilizer on soil cation exchange capacity (CEC), plant phosphorus concentration, and phosphorus uptake. The A3P3 treatment produced the highest CEC (24.14 cmol(+)/kg), phosphorus concentration (0.401%), and phosphorus uptake (0.072 g plant⁻¹). Individually, humic acid and phosphorus fertilizer significantly affected soil pH and soil organic carbon. The application of 35 kg ha⁻¹ humic acid resulted in soil pH of 7.57 and soil organic carbon of 2.40%, while 450 kg ha⁻¹ phosphorus fertilizer increased soil pH to 7.58 and soil organic carbon to 2.18%. The combination of 35 kg ha⁻¹ humic acid and 450 kg ha⁻¹ phosphorus fertilizer is recommended to improve soil chemical properties and phosphorus uptake efficiency in peanut cultivation on acidic mineral soils. Keywords: humic acid, peanut, phosphorus, phosphorus uptake, cation exchange capacity, acidic mineral soil.
