Abstract

The logic of shape, number, and sequence is the subject of mathematics. We use mathematics in everything we do. Available everywhere. Everything we use every day—computers, software, hardware, art, money, engineering, sports, and even ancient and modern architecture is built around it. In the realm of number theory, mathematicians study various aspects of prime numbers, including the distribution of prime numbers, ordering patterns of prime numbers, and methods for generating prime numbers. Even the most ancient and rudimentary societies used mathematics, and since the beginning of history, mathematical discoveries have been made. at the forefront of every civilized civilization. This is simple but can be applied to many phenomena in everyday life, making an Ancient Greek mathematician from the Hellenestic era named Erastothenes successful in being the person who created an extraordinary discovery, namely, the Erastothenes Sieve. Therefore, the aim of this research is to provide encouragement to junior high school students to understand and be interested in studying mathematics, especially the Erastothenes measurement method and then apply it in everyday life. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach and literature review method. The instruments used in this research are tests, interviews and documentation. The results of this research show the level of students' understanding of the Sieve of Eratosthenes.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of mathematics anxiety on student learning outcomes in algebra material. Mathematics anxiety is one of the psychological aspects that can influence student success in the learning process. This research applies a quantitative approach with an ex-post facto correlational design. The population in this research is all junior high schools in Pesisir Selatan Regency, totaling 80 schools. And as a sample, UPT SMPN 4 Painan was selected by random sampling. Mathematics anxiety data was collected using a questionnaire in the form of a Likert scale, while learning outcome data was obtained through algebra material tests. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics and the Pearson correlation test. The research results show a correlation coefficient value of r = -0.67, which indicates a strong negative relationship between mathematics anxiety and algebra learning outcomes. In addition, the coefficient of determination of 0.45 indicates that mathematics anxiety contributes 45% to variations in student learning outcomes. These findings indicate that an increase in the level of mathematics anxiety tends to be followed by a decrease in the learning outcomes achieved by students. Therefore, efforts are needed from teachers and schools to develop effective learning strategies in reducing mathematics anxiety in order to improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of growth mindset on the mathematical problem-solving ability of seventh-grade students at UPT SMP Negeri 1 Linggo Sari Baganti. This type of research is quantitative research with simple linear regression test analysis to determine the effect of growth mindset on mathematical problem-solving ability. Data collection techniques are using questionnaires to determine students' growth mindset data and tests to determine students' mathematical problem-solving ability, with a research sample of 26 students of grade VII.4. Based on the results of the analysis, students' growth mindset scores were obtained with the highest score of 76, the lowest score of 61, and an average of 68.42 which is in the medium category. The results of the students' mathematical problem-solving ability test showed the highest score of 98, the lowest score of 22, and an average of 76.46 which is in the medium to high category. The results of the study indicate that growth mindset has a positive effect on students' mathematical problem-solving ability, meaning that the higher a student's growth mindset, the more likely it is that the mathematical problem-solving ability also increases.

Abstract

Motivation to learn is important in educational success. Motivation to learn is not only influenced by psychological factors, but also by physical condition, including nutritional intake. More than 50% of MTsN 12 Pesisir Selatan students do not eat breakfast before going to school. This has a negative impact on students' physical and psychological readiness, energy, enthusiasm for learning, activeness and persistence in the learning process at school. As an effort to overcome this problem, the Indonesian government has implemented a Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program for school children. This research aims to find out whether there is a relationship between the MBG program and the learning motivation of MTsN 12 Pesisir Selatan students. This research uses a quantitative approach with Correlation Analysis and Simple Linear Regression Test. The research population was all MTsN 12 Pesisir Selatan students, with samples selected based on stratified random sampling of 30 students. The research results show that there is a strong and significant positive relationship between the MBG Program and student learning motivation with a value of r = 0.912. This means that the better the implementation of the MBG program, the higher the student's learning motivation
