Abstract

AbstractStorynomics tourism acts as an innovative strategy to promote West Papua’s tourism attractiveness by utilizing oral traditions. However, currently there are still few tourist attractions that have successfully developed this concept as part of a marketing strategy. This research aims to analyze Storynomics Tourism in increasing tourist attraction in West Papua through SWOT analysis strategy. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research with a content analysis approach. This research will explore data and information related to narratives or stories developed in the object of research, namely the Arfak Mountains Regency and Kaimana Regency. The data obtained is then analyzed through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the narratives connected in tourist destinations such as the Arfak Mountains Nature Reserve and Kampung Lobo in Kaimana, which raise the legends of the Bird of Paradise, the Garuda Bird, and a pair of Anggi lakes, have great potential in storynomics-based tourism development. SWOT analysis suggests the use of storynomics tourism with a focus on the strength of a legend and myth as an alternative West Papua tourism marketing strategy. Through this approach, tourists will be more aware of tourist attractions and gain unique experiences that they can tell after visiting West Papua tourist destinations. Keywords:       Storynomics Tourism; Culture; SWOT; West Papua AbstrakStorynomics tourism berperan sebagai strategi inovatif untuk mengangkat daya tarik wisata Papua Barat dengan memanfaatkan tradisi lisan.
