Abstract

Long queues at gas stations are a common sight, consuming valuable time for vehicle refueling. This inconvenience poses a challenge for the community, necessitating efficient time management. To address this issue, optimization through queue analysis is proposed. This study aims to analyze the queuing process for pertalite motorcycle fueling at one of the refueling stations, Udayana Gas Station, using the non-Poisson model (GPD/GEV/1):(FIFO/?/?). Additionally, a comparison is made with a modified scenario by introducing an extra server, resulting in the model (GPD/GEV/2):(FIFO/?/?). Based on 60 sampled data collected on Friday, 17 November, 2023, the analysis reveals a queue time of 5.8 minutes, with an expected 9 motorcycles in the queue. The results of the new model (GPD/GEV/2):(FIFO/?/?) indicate a notable reduction, with no motorcycles waiting in line for fueling. Consequently, it is recommended that Udayana Gas Station add an additional pertalite refueling station for motorcycles, promoting enhanced efficiency and convenience.

Abstract

Courses are a place for study material that must be studied by students and must be delivered by a lecturer. Courses are an important element in the smallest unit of student learning transactions, which are served by educational institutions to measure their achievement index. The course achievement index is seen based on the value intervals set by the educational institution. Udayana University is one of the educational institutions in Indonesia and is famous in Bali for one of its study programs, namely the mathematics study program which is within the scope of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The Udayana University Mathematics Study Program has 8 assessment letter scales, namely A, B+, B, C+, C, D+, D, E with the provision that the achievement index for each course is above the letter scale C. One of the purposes of having an achievement index is that it can be used in determine the taking of prerequisite courses for other courses.

Abstract

Queues are a common phenomenon and are often encountered in various aspects of daily life, especially in places that provide public services. One of the places that is inseparable from the queue problem is Indomaret Jimbaran, Bali. The large number of buyers who send data to Indomaret Jimbaran during peak hours causes the queue rate to be high. This is due to the limited number of service facilities and the time provided to serve each visitor is limited so that the cashier cannot serve buyers optimally. Therefore, the researcher is interested in researching whether the service facilities provided by Indomaret Jimbaran are effective and efficient so that they can satisfy customers.Using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, it was found that the appropriate distribution for the interarrival time of customers is the Gamma distribution, while the service time follows the 3-parameter Weibull distribution. The queueing model used is . The results show that having three cashiers is sufficient to handle the level of customer traffic at Indomaret Jimbaran retail store.

Abstract

Weather and cloud cover are two fundamental atmospheric elements that are closely interconnected and play a vital role in understanding, classifying, and predicting atmospheric conditions. Accurate classification of weather conditions is essential not only for meteorological studies but also for practical applications in agriculture, aviation, transportation, and disaster management. Among the various statistical techniques available, correspondence analysis has proven to be an effective exploratory method for revealing associations among categorical variables by displaying their relationships in a two-dimensional graphical map. The primary objective of this study is to examine the relationship between different categories of weather conditions and levels of cloud cover using correspondence analysis. The data were sourced from the Kaggle platform, consisting of 13,200 observations with two key categorical variables: weather conditions (sunny, cloudy, rainy, and snowy) and cloud cover (clear, partly cloudy, cloudy, and overcast). This large dataset provides sufficient variability and reliability to capture the complex interdependence between the two variables. The findings reveal a statistically significant relationship between weather categories and cloud cover levels. The correspondence map visualization shows distinct patterns: clear weather is strongly associated with cloudless skies, while rainy and snowy weather conditions are predominantly linked to fully overcast skies. Cloudy and partly cloudy conditions occupy an intermediate position on the correspondence map, reflecting a transitional state between favorable and unfavorable weather. The first dimension of the map represents a spectrum from favorable weather conditions (sunny and clear) to adverse conditions (rainy and snowy), whereas the second dimension primarily reflects the intensity or density of cloud cover, ranging from thin to thick cloud layers. Overall, this study demonstrates the usefulness of correspondence analysis as an exploratory tool for meteorological data, offering valuable insights into the interrelation of weather and cloud cover categories.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the probability of changes in grades from the prerequisite course Mathematical Statistics II using the Markov chain process method. Prerequisite courses are an important component in the higher education curriculum, because they influence student success in advanced courses. In this study, student grade data was collected and analyzed to map the transition between grade categories from one semester to the next. The Markov chain model is applied to predict patterns of value change, with the assumption that the future state of value depends only on the current state. It is hoped that the results of this research will provide insight into the pattern of grade transition, assist in academic decision making, and identify factors that contribute to an increase or decrease in student performance. Thus, this study can contribute to improving learning strategies and more effective academic policies.

Abstract

A queue is a condition where there is a delay in service due to busy service activity. Queues can occur at places that provide services, one of which is at places that provide food and beverage services. The fast food trend is growing rapidly. One of the restaurants providing fast food is Wizzmie Jimbaran. Queuing theory is used to determine optimization in decision making in queuing systems. This research purposed to determine the theory and queuing system, birth and death in queuing theory, queuing system model, the probability that there are zero people in the system, average arrival rate, average level of service to visitors, and to find out optimality of the queuing system at Wizzmie Jimbaran. From the results, it was found that a birth and death process occurred at Wizzmie Jimbaran queuing process with the M/M/3 queuing model and First In First Out (FIFO) service discipline. The average level of consumers waiting in queue is 1-3 queues. With the system utility level ranging at intervals that are not much different and the probability that there are zero people in the system recorded is less than 1. The time required for visitors in the system is 2-5 minutes and the time required for visitors in the queue is 1-5 minutes.

Abstract

Regression that is implemented on cross-sectional data and weighted by geographic space coordinates is called Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR). When local multicollinearity problem is detected in GWR model, Geographically Weighted Ridge Regression (GWRR) can include this problem. One of the government's main agendas is to accelerate the reduction of stunting in children under five.. The prevalence of stunting among children under five shows a decrease between 2020 and 2021. GWRR performs very well in handling local multicollinearity problems by looking at the almost perfect coefficient of determination ( ) of 99.99815%. From all provinces in Indonesia, the biggest factors that influence IKPS are KPS/KKS or Food Aid Recipients, Education Dimension, and Immunization.
