Abstract

The aim of this research is to obtain the optimal dimension of ferry vessels on the Kasipute-Pising crossing. This research is quantitative using a research design based on work procedures from quantification to measure research variables through the selection and design of data structures. By identifying problems and mismatches of ships operating with the main purpose of crossing transportation, and determining objective functions of optimization. Then determine the aspects of ship design that are adjusted to the characteristics of crossing vessels based on the conditions of request, oceanography and infrastructure. The optimal dimension of the crossing vessel for the Kasipute - Tanjung Pising crossing path has been obtained with dimensions of Length Overall 45.11 m, Breadth 11.9 m, Height of ship 2.7 m, Draft 1.78 m, speed 13 knots, tonnage 451 GT, passenger 450 people, 15 units of R-4 vehicles. The direction of optimization of the ship's design is more emphasized on increasing the speed and effectiveness of the passenger load capacity and mare space of R-4.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain an overview of how large the level of implementation of the International Safety Management Code (ISM-Code) is in shipping companies and on ships operating in these companies, and to analyze how they affect the company's operations. The object of this research is a cruise ship company in Makassar, namely PT. Dillah Samudera. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, where the analysis technique uses two kinds of data, namely primary data which is data obtained through questionnaire interviews and secondary data which is data obtained through literature and documents from companies and related agencies. The results obtained are the level of implementation of the ISM-Code on ships operated by PT. Dillah Samudera obtained an average (mean) according to the scale of 2.21 or 73.67%. As well as implementing the ISM-Code for PT. Ocean Dillah is an average of 2.89 or 96.33%. So it can be determined that the ISM-Code requirements for PT. Most of these Dillah Samudera have complied with the requirements of the ISM-Code. Keywords; Implementation; ISM-Code; Shipping companies

Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the time required in the evacuation of the passengers KL. Sultan Hasanuddin when it experienced a fire based on IMO regulations. Data from the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) shows that 221 shipping accidents were investigated during 2007-2023. The majority of accidents are classified as ships on fire (33 percent) with one of the biggest handling focuses on passenger ships and most of the accidents resulted in fatalities, so it is necessary to provide input and information regarding the evacuation of passengers and cadets regarding the process and time of evacuation when the ship experiences a fire. The type of research is quantitative research using pathfinder software simulation whose evacuation route is based on safety plan data fo KL. Sultan Hasanuddin. From the simulation results and analysis obtained the time required in evacuating passengers KL. Sultan Hasanuddin when experiencing a fire based on the provisions of IMO MSC.1/Circ.1238 in night conditions is 25.44 minutes and in daytime conditions 24, 43 minutes, which is faster during the day due to the distribution of passengers on the deck which reduces the density on the evacuation route. The alternative evacuation route on the main deck is 24% faster than the evacuation route planned in the Safety Plan, thus providing an opportunity for passengers to evacuate faster and avoid fire smoke.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine how much the level of implementation of the International Safety Management (ISM) Code in the shipping company PT Kalla Lines and on Ro-Ro ships operated in the shipping company. Based on data from the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT), 221 shipping accidents were investigated during 2007-2023, the majority of accidents were classified as ships on fire (33 percent) with one of the biggest focuses on roll-on/roll-of or ro-ro passenger ships, so it is necessary to determine the level of implementation of the ISM-Code in the shipping company PT Kalla Lines and its fleet of Ro-Ro ships. The type of research is descriptive qualitative, which can provide a clearer image of the implementation of the ISM Code. From the results of the analysis obtained the level of implementation the ISM-Code on ships operated by PT. Kalla Lines obtained an average (mean) according to scale of 2.59 or 86.24% is at the level of fulfilment, and the office of PT. Kalla Lines is 2.84 or 94.54% or meet the requirements of the ISM-Code.
