Abstract

Abstract: Improving the Students’ Ability to Write Descriptive Paragraph Through Intrapersonal Intelligence Strategy. Improving the Students’ Ability to Write Descriptive Paragraph Through Intrapersonal Intelligence Strategy. This research was aimed at finding out whether or not the use of intrapersonal intelligence strategy improves the ability in writing descriptive paragraph of the second year students of Indonesian junior high school. This research employed a quasi experimental method, with one group pre-test and post-test. The result of this research shows that the students’ post-test score for experimental group was higher than the students’ post-test score for control group. it was proved by the result of post-test mean score of experimental group (80.20) that was higher than the control group (70.l0). It is also proved by the value of t-test which was higher than the value of t-table (4.913>2.000). Based on the finding and discussion of the study, the researcher concluded that Intrapersonal Intelligence Strategy is significant to improve the students writing ability to write descriptive paragraph of the second year students of Indonesian junior high school.Keywords: Intrapersonal intelligence, writing.

Abstract

This presents research explore on the use of gestures to improve students’ vocabulary mastery at the second grade students of Indonesian junior high school. This quantitative research involved 60 students as its sample. The data obtained from the pretest, treatments, and posttest were were analysed to find its mean score and the score of t-test. The result of the study showed that there was a significant improvement of the students’ achievement after giving the treatment. The data shows that the t-test obtained by the students (16.28) is greater than t-table (2.045). This is means that H0 is rejected and H1 is acceptable. The data of students’ interest which were taken by using questionnaire shows that 25 students (83.33%) are in the very high category and left only five students (16.67%) in the high category. It means that the students were interested and this technique is suitable in teaching English vocabulary.

Abstract

This study was conducted at MAN 1 Kolaka. The objective is to find out information and data weather there is any correlation between English language learning strategy and students’ thinking style at the second grade AGAMA I of MAN 1 Kolaka. The research design is descriptive quantitative in nature. The data were collected through questionnaires. Findings revealed that the English Language Learning Strategy at the second grade AGAMA I of MAN 1 Kolaka were Metacognitive with the total frequency of 47% and Students’ Thinking Style were Extrovert with the total percentage of 53%. The Population of the study was the second-grade students of MAN 1 Kolaka and the sample of the research was 1 class based on random sampling technique which consisted of 15 students. The data analysis used in this research was product moment formula which showed that there were no correlation between English Language Learning Strategy and Students’ Thinking Style. It could be synthesized that hypothesis were r-count was lower than r-table. So H1 was rejected and H2 was accepted. The coefficient Correlation between English Language Learning Strategies and Students’ Thinking Style did not have any significant correlation with the r-count = -0,218 was lower than r-table 0,514 at the significance level 5% and degree of freedom (df) was 15 (-0,218>0,514). Therefore, it was categorized as low correlation. H0 and H1 was rejected and H2 was accepted.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of English language proficiency on the performance of bank employees in Makassar. In the era of globalization and international banking services, English has become an essential communication tool for employees who interact with foreign customers, operate digital banking systems, and access global financial information. This research employed a quantitative research design using a survey method. The participants consisted of 25 bank employees from several banking institutions in Makassar selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire using a five-point Likert Scale to measure employees’ English proficiency and job performance indicators, including work efficiency, communication skills, and career development opportunities. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis, including percentages, mean scores, and frequency distributions. The reliability test using Cronbach’s Alpha showed a reliability coefficient of 0.82, indicating that the instrument was reliable. The findings revealed that 60% of respondents had intermediate English proficiency, while 20% were categorized as advanced and 20% as beginner users. The overall mean score for employee performance was 4.12, indicating a high level of agreement that English proficiency positively influences workplace performance. Furthermore, 72% of respondents agreed that English proficiency improved communication with foreign clients, while 68% stated that it increased work efficiency and productivity. The study concludes that English language proficiency significantly contributes to employee performance, customer service quality, and career advancement opportunities in the banking sector. Therefore, banking institutions are encouraged to provide continuous English language training programs to strengthen employees’ competencies and organizational competitiveness.
