Abstract

This article discusses the history of the development of the modern Darul Hikmah Tulungagung Islamic boarding school 1991-1998. Darul Hikmah modern cottage was founded by KH. Nurul Hadi Ridwan located in Tawangsari village, Kedungwaru, Tulungagung. The establishment of the modern Darul Hikmah Islamic boarding school began with the Arabic and English language course institute founded by KH. Nurul Hadi Ridwan was also encouraged by his father's will to use the waqf land as an Islamic boarding school. The aims of this research to determine the development of learning programs at the Darul Hikmah modern boarding school which uses a combination of the government curriculum and the KMI Gontor curriculum. The research method in this study uses a historical method which consists of four stages, namely heuristics, verification, interpretation and historiography. The results of this research include: first, the early history of the establishment of the Darul Hikmah modern cottage in Tawangsari village in 1991 and the figures who played a role in it. Secondly, the development of the modern Darul Hikmah Islamic boarding school in 1991-1998 started with the implementation of educational programs, activities and facilities within the Islamic boarding school. Third, the implementation of a bilingual program which has been designated as the official language for daily communication among students as well as the language of instruction for formal education at the Darul Hikmah modern boarding school.

Abstract

This research discusses the role of K.H. Dimyati in the spread of Islam in 1950-1989 in Baran, Ploso village, Selopuro subdistrict, Blitar district. K.H. Dimyati is a ulama figure who has influenced the pace of increasing understanding of Islam in the Baran community. This research aims to explain the biography and role of K.H. Dimyati in the spread of Islam in Baran, Ploso Village, Selopuro District, Blitar Regency. This research uses a historical research method which consists of four stages, namely heuristics, verification, interpretation and historiography by utilizing oral data sources through interviews and library sources. The results of this research are K.H. Dimyati, as a cleric who is descended from kiai, has a role in spreading Islam and attracting the religious awareness of the Baran people, especially with his high level of humanity, holding Al-Qur'an sorogans, teaching the yellow book, holding regular recitations specifically for the elderly and teaching kanuragan science. The influence of K.H. Dimyati can be seen from the people who still use the grave of K.H. Dimyati as a pilgrimage destination and sacred.

Abstract

This research discusses the role of Egyptian Kyai Ageng Mohammad in the spread of Islam in Ngadirogo Hamlet, Podorejo Village, Sumbergempol District, Tulungagung Regency, 1790-1818. Kyai Ageng Mohammad Egypt is a cleric who spread Islamic teachings and values ​​in Ngadirogo who previously embraced Hindu-Buddhist religion so he was able to convert the majority of Ngadirogo people to Islam. The aim of this research is to explain the biography and contribution of Kyai Ageng Mohammad Egypt in spreading Islam in Ngadirogo. The research method used is a historical research method with four stages, namely heuristics, verification, interpretation and historiography by utilizing oral data sources through interviews and library sources. The results of this research are that Kyai Ageng Mohammad Egypt contributed to spreading Islam in Ngadirogo by teaching the basics of Islam about monotheism and the pillars of Islam and establishing a mosque as a center for preaching. The preaching carried out by Kyai Ageng Mohammad Egypt spread beyond Ngadirogo, thereby creating a spiritual connection. with a student, namely Regent Raden Tumenggung Partowijoyo, who later influenced the change in the status of the Ngrowo Duchy to Tulungagung Regency.
