Abstract

ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) has been started rolling. Market competition, industry, and skilled workers, especially in the field of education are becoming increasingly stringent. Madrasah teachers as the front liners in the education process should improve the quality of human resources. Hard skills and soft skills of madrasah teachers must be improved to deal with the Asean Economic Community (AEC). Hard skills are academic skills that include pedagogic competence and professional competence. How to improve the hard skills is to meet the pedagogic competence (ability to manage learning students) and professional competence (the ability to master the learning material is broad and deep). Soft skills is the ability to organize themselves (intrapersonal skills, such as creativity, motivation, and self-contained) and the ability to interact with others (interpersonal skills, such as communication, team building and adaptation) to maximize performance. Soft skills include personal competence and social competence. Madrasah teachers should be able to change the mindset of a passenger became good driver. Professional madrasah teachers are teachers who have the balanced hard skills and soft skills, which can compete healthily in AEC era.

Abstract

SPRITUAL TEACHING IN SCIENCE LEARNING IN MADRASAH. The purpose of national education must be realized in a series of learning process. One of the ways to realize it is by applying the spiritual teaching. Spiritual teaching is teaching and guiding the learners by instilling values and religious spirit which is integrated in knowledge and skill concept in accordance with the learning purposes.  The essence of science learning includes four main elements. They are attitude, process, product, and application. Spiritual teaching in science learning in madrasah can be implemented in some ways, some of them are: 1) reflective learning, 2) contextual learning (CTL), 3) spiritual educational game (SEG), and 4) outdoor learning. The teacher is able to choose the learning method that will be applied. It is associated with the material that will be delivered. When the teacher applies the spiritual teaching in science learning in madrasah, it is hoped that the students will be smart comprehensively, intellectually, spiritually, and emotionally/socially.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menerapkan model Problem Based Learning dalam Pembelajaran IPA Kelas VIII MTs Ma’arif NU 1 Patikraja dan (2) meningkatkan soft skill kerja sama dan pemahaman konsep peserta didik kelas VIII pada mata pelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas. Prosedur meliputi dua siklus, setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Penelitian bertempat di MTs Ma’arif NU 1 Patikraja. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar observasi, angket, dan tes (pre test post test). Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning meliputi lima langkah, yaitu: mengorientasi peserta didik kepada masalah; mengorganisasikan peserta didik; membimbing penyelidikan individu dan kelompok; mengembangkan dan menyajikan hasil karya; dan menganalisa dan mengevaluasi proses pemecahan masalah. (2) hasil observasi selama proses pembelajaran, perbaikan dalam pembelajaran, dan hasil pre test post test menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan soft skill kerja sama dan pemahaman konsep peserta didik pada materi alat optik. (3) rata-rata hasil pre test post test peserta didik pada siklus I sebesar 66,52 dan pada siklus II sebesar 75,43. Peserta didik mengalami peningkatan ketuntasan belajar dari siklus I sebesar 39% menjadi 83% pada siklus II.
