Abstract

This research aims to examine, analyze, and interpret the implementation of the independent learning curriculum on student achievement at SMP Sta. Theresia. The readiness of educators in implementing the independent learning curriculum based on competence, creative innovation, and work ethic is a driving factor in improving student achievement at SMP Sta. Theresia. These four aspects support effective teaching strategies and models. The research is descriptive in nature, employing a qualitative approach. Data were obtained through interviews with several informants, namely teachers at SMP Sta. Theresia who implemented the independent learning curriculum. The research results indicate that the optimization of the implementation of the independent learning curriculum significantly improves student achievement. However, challenges were also detected in the form of learning culture. The key to the success of implementing the independent learning curriculum lies in the efforts of teachers and students to change their mindset to achieve optimal results. Over the past two years at SMP Sta. Theresia Malalayang, teachers have undergone a transformation in their thinking for the success of effective education, designing strategies that prioritize competence implementation. The improvement in student achievement is evident, and the independent learning curriculum contributes to this achievement by adapting modules according to the interests and learning styles of students, enabling each student to excel. The Student Pancasila Profile Development Program, an initiative of the independent learning curriculum absent in the previous curriculum, aims to strengthen diverse competencies in building a student profile that emphasizes Pancasila values. This serves as the connecting point and supporting factor for the improvement of student achievement in the implementation of the independent learning curriculum at SMP Sta. Theresia Malalayang.

Abstract

This study examines social transformation in the digital era and its implications for contemporary society from the perspective of digital sociology. The research explores how technological changes are altering communication patterns, social interactions, economic structures, and other aspects of modern life. The analysis covers shifts in consumption patterns, employment, culture, identity, and political participation, while also highlighting the emergence of digital inequality. Despite the benefits of such transformations, such as broader access to information and greater political engagement, there are significant challenges, including disparities in technology access and digital skills, as well as the risks associated with irresponsible use of technology. Addressing these challenges requires cross-sector collaboration. Enhancing technology accessibility and skills, promoting digital inclusivity, and managing the social and economic impacts of technology are crucial for creating a sustainable and inclusive society in this digital age. With appropriate awareness and prudent actions, we can leverage the positive potential of technological changes to improve collective well-being and advance society towards a better future.

Abstract

This study examines the synergy between family and school at St. Ignatius Catholic High School in Manado, focusing on parental participation in supporting children's educational success. A qualitative approach is used to understand the dynamics of interaction between parents and the school in both academic and character development aspects of students. The findings reveal that this synergy is created through open communication between teachers and parents, as well as the active involvement of parents in various school activities, such as family mass and non-academic events. Factors such as parents' awareness of the importance of their role, their busy schedules, and economic conditions influence their participation. The established synergy positively impacts not only students' academic achievements but also their character development. The presence of supportive parents at home and schools that provide the right facilitation helps students feel more confident and motivated. This study emphasizes that collaboration between family and school is essential for the educational success of students.
