Abstract

The quality (quality) of education has always been something that must be strived for by all elements of education. Therefore, managing an educational institution must be comprehensive and integrated. This is inseparable from how an institution manages that quality. The quality of education can be seen from the fulfillment of the eight educational standards that must be met by schools. The strategy for improving the quality of education must be directed at the components that determine the quality of education in schools, namely: 1) Strengthening Leadership in Schools, 2) Good curriculum management, 3) Increasing the Professionalism of Teachers and Education Personnel, 4) Complete facilities and infrastructure, 5) The creation of good relations with the surrounding community, 6) Continuous evaluation/improvement. By achieving a quality education process, it is ensured that it can also produce quality output by the National Education Standards.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the three deixis in the novel London Love Story by Tisa Ts. The three deixis include person deixis, time deixis and place deixis. This study applies a qualitative descriptive methodology. The information contained in this study contains words and utterances that contain deixis available in the novel London Love Story by Tisa Ts. The technique applied in this study to combine data is documentation, this method is a method of collecting information by examining written, verbal and image documents. Based on the data analyzed, the type of persona deixis is the most common type of deixis. Future studies could benefit from this study. Furthermore, it can be useful for readers to know persona deixis, time deixis and place deixis in the novel London Love Story by Tisa Ts.

Abstract

The ability to critically analyze scientific and popular articles is an essential part of critical literacy that supports the quality of higher education. This study aims to examine how curriculum management accommodates the development of critical article analysis skills among students. A qualitative descriptive study with a case study approach was employed, involving curriculum document analysis, interviews with lecturers and students, and classroom observations. The results reveal that the development of critical skills is more focused on scientific articles, while popular articles receive less attention in the curriculum. These findings emphasize the need to integrate the critical analysis of both types of articles simultaneously within curriculum management to enhance students’ critical literacy. This study contributes a conceptual model for integrating text criticism into higher education curriculum design.
