<![CDATA[Abtrak: Film pendek (Short Movie) adalah film yang memiliki durasi pendek, simpel dan memiliki dikemas secara kompleks dan tidak dianggap sebagai film panjang/utama (feature film). Film pendek juga merupakan film dengan nuansa sederhana dan kompleks yang tidak dianggap film layar lebar. Film pendek pada dasarnya bukan hanya durasi pendek, juga bukan reduksi film panjang, atau tutorial untuk pemula yang baru masuk ke dunia perfilman. Film pendek yang diangkat untuk karya akhir ini berjudul “Salah Kabar Bikin Bubar”, mengangkat tema dampak dari berita hoax yang dapat merugikan seseorang, genre dari film ini adalah drama. Dengan menceritakan sekelompok sahabat dari universitas yang sama, memiliki hobi yang sama. Hingga sebuah insiden menghancurkan persahabatan mereka. Pengambilan jenis genre drama ini bermaksud untuk membuat suatu karya film pendek yang menghibur namun juga memberikan sebuah edukasi kepada masyarakat mengenai bahaya berita hoax serta meminimalisir tersebarnya berita hoax. Peran sutradara dalam pembuatan film sangatlah penting dikarenakan sutradara memberikan segala wawasan, usaha, dan ilmu pengetahuan dalam membuat konsep atau gagasan penyutradaraan untuk filmnya. Begitu juga dengan pembuatan film ini, sutradara selalu terlibat langsung pada seluruh proses pembuatan filmnya, agar dapat mengontrol dan mengawasi prosesnya sehingga mendapatkan hasil yang sesuai dengan keinginan dan harapan sutradara, baik dari pra produksi hingga pasca produksi.Kata Kunci: Sutradara, Peran Sutradara, Film Pendek, Berita HoaxAbstract: A short film is a film that has a short duration, is simple and has a complex packaging and is not considered a feature film.
