Abstract

Community Empowerment is a development process in which the community takes the initiative to start a social activity process to improve their own situation and condition. Community empowerment will be successful or can occur if residents participate. Community empowerment also has several principles in its implementation, namely raising awareness of the community, providing education and training, organizing, developing strength, and developing dynamics (decisions in the hands of the community itself).

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of unemployment on poverty in Sorong Regency. The analysis method used is a simple linear regression analysis method. The research results show that the unemployment variable has a significant effect on poverty, so it can be explained that the higher the amount of poverty, the lower the income earned by the community which results in a decrease in welfare which has an impact on increasing the number of poor people.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how capital and labor influence furniture production in the Mulyo Joyo furniture business. This research is quantitative descriptive in nature, the analytical tool used is multiple linear regression, where the results of the research show that simultaneously capital and labor and increase, this  increases the amount of furniture production. From this research, information was obtained relating to the total revenue and profits obtained by the furniture business. When compared with the total revenue and profit in 2020, the total revenue and profit from the furniture business has decreased because production in 2020 decreased.

Abstract

This Community Service program was conducted in Malawele Village, Aimas District, Sorong Regency, to empower farmers’ economic capacity through improvements in farming productivity, market integration, and strengthening of farmer group institutions. The target group of the activity was the Tunas Baru Farmer Group, whose members cultivate horticultural crops, particularly mustard greens and long beans. The program was implemented using a participatory and applicative approach, placing farmers as active subjects in all stages of the activity, including problem identification, counseling, technical training, marketing assistance, and institutional strengthening. The results of the program indicate an improvement in farmers’ knowledge and skills related to cultivation techniques, increased awareness of the importance of market access and collective marketing, and enhanced cooperation and participation within the farmer group. Furthermore, the strengthening of the Tunas Baru Farmer Group contributed to its role as a forum for joint decision-making and collective farm business planning. Overall, the Community Service activity demonstrated positive initial impacts on farmer economic empowerment and provided a foundation for sustainable horticulture-based local economic development in Malawele Village.
