Abstract

The "Scaffolding Digital Storytelling" training program has undergone a comprehensive evaluation using a rigorous mixed-methods methodology, which includes both quantitative and qualitative assessments. The program demonstrated significant effectiveness in improving participants' comprehension and abilities in digital storytelling and scaffolding. An analysis of assessments conducted before and after training, with the use of statistical tests, revealed a noteworthy enhancement in knowledge and abilities within the experimental group. This underscores the success of the program. The qualitative findings provided more clarity on the participants' experiences, highlighting their active involvement, contentment, and effective incorporation of digital storytelling into their teaching methods. The program's favorable impact on pedagogical techniques was evidenced through observations, surveys, and analysis of lesson plans. The program's revolutionary power was further validated by notable success stories, such as those of HM, LF, and EB, which demonstrated its adaptability across different degrees of technological expertise. The use of digital storytelling in educational settings, as demonstrated by teachers like Sarah Thompson, RM, PK, and BS, highlights the long-lasting beneficial impacts on student involvement, linguistic aptitude, and analytical thinking abilities. Crucially, the program went beyond just one intervention and encouraged educators to continuously improve and adapt. In conclusion, the "Scaffolding Digital Storytelling" training program proves to be a powerful force for promoting positive transformation in both the skills of the participants and the methods of instruction. The significant influence it has on gaining knowledge, effectively incorporating it into teaching methods, and consistently improving student outcomes make it a powerful resource for enhancing language training using digital storytelling and scaffolding strategies.

Abstract

Digital technology has completely changed how students access and interact with instructional information in today's schools. Digital tools are becoming more commonplace in the learning environment, which calls for a critical analysis of how students view and use these resources. This article seeks to explore how learners view the application of digital technologies to learning. Investigate the advantages that students feel they receive from using digital devices in the classroom and Determine the issues and worries students have with the inclusion of digital tools. A mixed-methods strategy was used to complete the study's goals, using quantitative and qualitative research techniques, there are survey, interview and literature review. The following are some of the major findings: Learners appreciate the advantages of digital technologies, including improved engagement, easy access to a plethora of knowledge, and individualized learning experiences. Effective educational practices have a favourable effect on students' experiences, and educators play a crucial role in influencing students' attitudes towards technology. The significance of a balanced strategy that takes advantage of technology's benefits while tackling its downsides is emphasised by learners. This study emphasises how important it is to take learners' opinions into account when creating digital learning environments. To maintain the relevance, engagement, and inclusivity of educational experiences, learner voices should be actively considered when making decisions on technology integration. Collaboration between academics, organisations, and politicians is required to strike this balance between utilising digital technologies' advantages and solving the problems they present. In the end, the study's findings provide insightful information for those involved in education, emphasising the necessity for a learner-centric strategy for integrating digital technology.

Abstract

Due to population growth and the increasing number of vehicles, traffic congestion has become a major problem in Aceh, especially in large cities like Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar. This chaos has led to increased fuel costs, decreased productivity, and wasted time. Environmental factors such as increased carbon emissions and noise also affect the community's quality of life. The aim of this research is to study how traffic congestion impacts the fields of transportation, economy, and environment in Aceh. This study will also seek the main causes of congestion, such as the lack of public transportation, the imbalance between the number of vehicles and road capacity, and the non-ideal urban spatial patterns. We conducted the research using a descriptive qualitative approach, which involved direct observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The research results show that improving road infrastructure, better urban planning, and higher quality public transportation are strategic steps to reduce congestion. The sustainable solution suggested by this study is the integration of technology in community awareness campaigns and traffic management. We expect these findings to assist Aceh policymakers in addressing congestion, enhancing mobility, and fostering economic growth.

Abstract

The focus of this study is the transformation of English and Mathematics education at the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Takengon. Higher education at IAIN Takengon faces challenges in increasing student interest, especially in English and Mathematics study programs. Students believe that mathematics and English skills are not important for career success. This is a common problem in many universities in Indonesia. By focusing on the analysis of high school needs, this study attempts to address the problem. The results of the analysis indicate that IAIN Takengon programs can be tailored to meet the specific needs of English and Mathematics students. As part of the solution, IAIN Takengon students engage directly with high school students and gain hands-on experience in mentoring and teaching. To determine the needs of high schools, an analysis of the study program curriculum, interviews with teachers and students, and observations were conducted. The results of the study indicate that the English and Mathematics curriculum needs to be improved specifically, and the program should be more related to students' real lives. Case studies and qualitative methods are considered effective in collecting contextual data and providing in-depth insights into the state of education at IAIN Takengon. Other practical recommendations include curriculum adjustments, creating learning materials that are more in line with industry needs, and training teachers to implement innovative teaching methods.

Abstract

The objective of this project is to investigate innovative strategies and approaches that can significantly revolutionize the process of learning the English language for current college students. The aim is to identify and analyze innovative teaching approaches that are in line with the learning preferences of modern students. The goal is to offer practical insights and guidance to educators who wish to implement creative teaching methods for English. The study's theoretical framework is built upon several key concepts and frameworks that provide a solid basis for understanding new approaches to English language education in higher education. The research findings, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative data, unequivocally confirm the positive impact of new teaching methods on student engagement, contentment, and perceived effectiveness. The findings of this study underscore the significance of using innovative approaches in English language teaching at the university level.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to explore and optimize the local potential of the abundant soursop fruit in Puteri Betung Village, Gayo Lues Regency. The primary problem lies in the local community's underutilization of the abundant soursop fruit. This activity was conducted in the form of training on making soursop dodol and product packaging design. The methods used include a participatory approach, direct training, and evaluation of the work produced. This activity resulted in an increased understanding among the community regarding the added value of soursop fruit, improved technical skills in product processing, and support from the local government for the continuation of the product. The soursop dodol product successfully won 1st place in the local potential utilization category at the district-level expo. The results of this activity show that local potential-based mentoring can be an effective medium for empowering the community's economy.

Abstract

Pembelajaran secara online mungkin bukan hal yang baru bagi mahasiswa. kemajuan teknologi sekarang memungkinkan mahasiswa untuk belajar sepenuhnya secara online sambil tetap bersosialisasi dengan teman sekelas, pembelajaran saat mata kuliah dan berpartisipasi dalam diskusi khusus mata pelajaran yang sedang berlangsung. dengan cara via konferensi video, dokumen, digital, dan yang lainya. Dengan begitu kegiatan perkuliahan pun tetap berlangsung, Perkuliahan secara online atau daring pun bisa di akses dimana saja dan di waktu yang telah ditentukan bersama. Salah satu aplikasi yang menyediakan fasilitas interaksi tatap muka pendidik dan peserta didik secara virtual melalui video conference dengan PC atau laptop atau smartphone adalah Zoom Cloud Meeting, aplikasi ini merupakan aplikasi yang digunakan sebagai media komunikai jarak jauh dengan menggabungkan konferensi video, obrolan, pertemuan online dan kolaborasi seluler. Penggunaan meeting dalam aplikasi ini bisa menampung 1000 peserta bersama dalam satu pertemuan secara virtual. Aplikasi ini dapat didownload secara gratis, tetapi tetap fungsional, fitur yang ada antara lain panggilan telephone, webinar, presentasi, dan masih banyak lainnya. Aplikasi ini dinilai punya kualitas yang baik, dapat dibuktikan dengan perusahaan yang sudah masuk dalam fortune 500 sudah menggunakan layanan ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian kualitatif adalah penelitian yang berlandaskan filsafat post positivisme yang digunakan untuk meneliti kondisi objek yang alamiah dimana peneliti sebagai instrumen kunci dan hasil penelitiannya lebih menekankan makna dari pada generalisasi. Analisis data penelitian dilakukan menggunakan model analisis Miles dan Huberman (1994) secara umum, terdapat tiga jalur analisis data kualitatif yaitu, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Reduksi data adalah proses pemilihan, pemusatan perhatian pada penyederhanaan, pengabstrakan dan transformasi data kasar yang muncul dari catatan-catatan tertulis di lapangan. Penyajian data adalah kegiatan ketika sekumpulan informasi disusun, sehingga memberi kemungkinan akan adanya penarikan kesimpulan dan pengambilan tindakan. Penarikan kesimpulan adalah dimana peneliti terus menarik kesimpulan. Berdasarkan penelitian dapat disimpulkan Pembelajaran secara online menggunakan aplikasi zoom sangat tidak efektif di gunakan saat masa pandemi covid-19 di karenakan bebera kendala seperti kurangnya paket data, jaringan yang sering kurang bagus dan lain sebagainya.

Abstract

This community service article seeks to enhance the religious literacy and Qur'anic recitation skills (tahsin) of women aged 45 and above in the Aceh Tengah region. The program consists of 90-minute weekly meetings, incorporating 45 minutes of Islamic motivating lectures (tausiyah) and 45 minutes of guided tahsin. This effort employs participatory and reflective methodologies to address the spiritual and technological dimensions of faith practices. Results demonstrate that participants exhibited notable enhancement in their confidence in reading the Qur'an and conveyed a heightened emotional and spiritual connection to Islamic ideals. This program emphasised the significance of accessible, consistent, and compassionate Islamic education for adult learners. The results indicate additional chances for replication in analogous sociocultural environments.
