Abstract: This research was motivated by the low collaboration skills of students, who tended to be passive, dominant, and less able to work cooperatively in groups. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of applying the Small Group Discussion (SGD) method on improving the collaboration skills of fourth grade students at SDN 1 Kabar in the 2024/2025 academic year. The study employed a quantitative experimental design. The subjects were 22 fourth grade students. Data were collected through tests (pre-test and post-test) and observation sheets of collaboration skills. Data were analyzed using the Liliefors normality test and paired sample t-test to determine the differences before and after the treatment. The results showed that the mean pre-test score of 47.27 increased to 86.36 in the post-test, with a difference of 39.09 points. The t-test revealed that tcount = 10.52 was higher than ttable = 2.08 at a 5% significance level, with a p-value of 7.94 × 10⁻¹⁰ < 0.05, indicating that H0 was rejected. This means that the Small Group Discussion method had a significant effect on students’ collaboration skills. Qualitatively, students became more active in sharing roles, appreciating others’ opinions, and resolving conflicts through consensus. Therefore, the Small Group Discussion method can be considered an alternative strategy to improve collaboration skills in IPAS and other subjects. Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan kolaborasi peserta didik yang masih cenderung pasif, mendominasi, dan kurang mampu bekerja sama dalam kelompok. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan metode pembelajaran Small Group Discussion (SGD) terhadap peningkatan keterampilan kolaborasi peserta didik kelas IV SDN 1 Kabar tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen. Subjek penelitian adalah 22 peserta didik kelas IV. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes (pre-test dan post-test) serta lembar observasi keterampilan kolaborasi. Analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas Liliefors dan uji-t berpasangan (paired sample t-test) untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata nilai pre-test sebesar 47,27 meningkat menjadi 86,36 pada post-test, dengan selisih 39,09 poin. Uji-t menghasilkan t hitung = 10,52 lebih besar dari t tabel = 2,08 pada taraf signifikansi 5% dengan p-value 7,94 × 10⁻¹⁰ < 0,05, sehingga H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Hal ini berarti terdapat pengaruh signifikan penerapan metode Small Group Discussion terhadap keterampilan kolaborasi peserta didik. Secara kualitatif, peserta didik menjadi lebih aktif berbagi peran, menghargai pendapat, serta menyelesaikan konflik secara musyawarah. Dengan demikian, metode Small Group Discussion dapat dijadikan strategi alternatif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan kolaborasi dalam pembelajaran IPAS maupun mata pelajaran lain.
