Abstract

Soil biological properties are various aspects related to the life of microorganisms and macroorganisms in the soil and biological activities. This study aims to understand how soil organisms and their biological activities contribute to soil fertility and plant health. This study used a purposive sampling method and was analyzed using descriptive analysis. Soil biological properties, including the total number of bacteria and fungi, were observed to assess the effect of Black Soldier Fly larvae (kasgot) fertilizer application. The results showed that treatment variations had a significant effect on the population of fungi and bacteria in the rhizosphere. The highest value of the fungal population was recorded in the M1 treatment without the first treatment, while the lowest value was in the M1 treatment with the first treatment, indicating that the type and frequency of treatment can drastically affect fungal growth. For the bacterial population, the M3 treatment in the first application showed the highest effectiveness, while the M2 treatment in the second application showed the lowest results, highlighting the importance of the dose and application stage in increasing the bacterial population. Overall, this study emphasizes the importance of selecting the right treatment to optimize the soil microbial population in agricultural practices.

Abstract

The Bilah Sub-Watershed area includes areas that have somewhat critical or semi-critical land so that land use is the result of human efforts in managing the available resources to meet their various needs. This often results in land use not being in accordance with its capabilities. This research aims to examine the chemical properties of several vegetation in Negeri Lama Seberang Village, Bilah Hilir District, Labuhanbatu Regency. The research was carried out from December to March 2024 using a survey method. Soil samples were taken at 3 points for each vegetation and different slopes at depths of 1-10 cm and 10-20 cm using a simple random method. The soil parameters measured were soil acidity (electrometry), soil organic carbon content (Walkley and Black), and soil texture (bouyoucos hydrometer). Soil analysis was carried out at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra. The results of this research show that on a slope of 0-8% the average soil pH value is 4.61% and organic C is 1.04%, while on a slope of 8-15% the average soil pH value is 4.46% and C -organic 0.91%. On a slope of 0-8% the average value of the clay fraction is 20.27%, the dust fraction is 15.02% and the sand fraction is 64.41%, while on a slope of 8-15% the average value of the clay fraction is 27.48%, the dust fraction 19.87%, and sand fraction 52.63%.

Abstract

This socialization and training was motivated by the manufacture of liquid organic fertilizer from eggshell waste, eggshell is a waste that is mostly produced by fast food traders, and they just throw it in the trash can even though the egg shells are not only for decoration or not for decoration. make full use of it even though egg shells contain nutrients that many plants need for fertilizer, increase public awareness that eggshell waste can be utilized. Liquid organic fertilizer We conduct training in the community or in farmer groups. This training aims to increase organic planting in the community. base with organic fertilizer

Abstract

Nitrogen fixing fungi are fungi capable of fixing free nitrogen into ammonium or nitrate, so that it can be absorbed by plants. Many species of microbes/fungi have the ability to fix nitrogen, but very few are able to excrete nitrogen in the form of ammonia so that their contribution in providing nitrogen for plants is also still low. This study aims to determine the characteristics and type of nitrogen fixing fungi in fruit and vegetable waste compost. The method used in this research was descriptive method. Identification of nitrogen-fixing fungi was carried out macroscopically by looking at the color of the colonies, the shape of the colonies, and the diameter of the fungal colonies, an then identified by molecularly. There were 4 isolates of nitrogen-fixing fungi capable of forming clear zones on Jensen's media with different morphological characteristics and nitrogen-fixing abilities. The largest diameter of the clear zone was shown in isolate A3 of 3.2 cm which is the fungus Aspergillus niger strain SG1.

Abstract

Some communities or farmers in North Rantau Sub-district who do not know how to use land or use land for something of higher economic value. A post-rice field land is the most appropriate idea or mindset in the field, by utilizing agricultural land it becomes more useful by providing knowledge about the chemical properties of paddy fields and providing insight that paddy fields require maximum handling, restoration and improvement so that land is productive in agriculture. chili cultivation, so that it can have a good influence on the economy of the surrounding community. This study aims to determine the chemical properties of the soil to utilize red chili plants in Aek Paing Village, Rantau Utara District, Labuhanbatu Regency. This research was carried out in post-rice fields located in Aek Paing Village, Rantau Utara District, Labuhanbatu Regency. The research was carried out on October 18, 2021 until it was completed. The method used in this research is using the free grid survey method. The results of this study found that post-rice fields located in the District of North Rantau, Labuhanbatu Regency, were not well used as red chili farming land. The results of this study indicate that the pH value is low, C-Organic is low, N-total is low, P-Bray II is high, Ca is low, Mg is low, K is high, Na is low, CEC is high.

Abstract

The need for curly red chili plants for nutrients can be met with appropriate fertilization according to the needs of the plant itself, fertilization aims to improve plant fertility to plant growth. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of npk16-16-16 fertilizer and application time on red chili plant growth. The research was conducted in Afdeling 2 plantation area, West Bila Subdistrict, Labuhanbatu Regency. This research was carried out from October 2021 to February 2022. The design used in this study was a randomized block design (RAK) and used a 3x3 factorial consisting of 2 factors. The first factor was the application of NPK 16 16 16 fertilizer with 3 levels, P1: a dose of 3 g/plant, P2: a dose of 6 g/plant, P3: a dose of 9 g/plant. The second factor is the application time of NPK 16-16-16 fertilizer with 3 levels, K1: once a week, K2: once every 2 weeks, K3: once every 3 weeks. Observational data were analyzed with a 5% level of variance to determine whether there was a significant difference between treatments. Followed by Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DMRT) level 5% if there is a significant difference in each treatment. The results showed that the treatment at a dose of 9 g/plant gave a good trend in plant height growth. while the dose of 6 g/plant gave a tendency of good yields in all yields and several observations of the growth of flowering age and leaf area.

Abstract

The internship activity at PT Supra Matra Abadi Kebun Aek Nabara (KAN) in Bilah Hulu District, LabuhanBatu Regency, North Sumatra Province, this activity was carried out for four months, March-July and the method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 2 different treatments, namely by concentration of 6% and 7%. Results: Afdilling III PT Supra Matra Abadi controlled banyan weeds using two treatments, namely manually and chemically. The banyan weed is a nuisance plant, because its life clings to or suffocates the oil palm plant. The negative impacts on oil palm plants are pest attacks, competition occurs, humidity increases, making it difficult for the pruning and harvesting processes. The banyan weed population in PT Supra Matra Abadi is in block C87C and block C87G. The purpose of this study was to determine the effective and efficient concentration in the use of the supremo herbicide with the active ingredient glyphosate. Based on the results of research that has been carried out from the two concentrations of the herbicide supremo 480 SL which is effective and efficient for controlling banyan weeds in oil palm plants, namely a concentration of 7%. Because at a concentration of 6% it takes 30 days to see the banyan weed die
