Abstract

Latar belakang: Golongan darah penting bagi kehidupan manusia karena berperan sebagai ciri khas khusus pada darah seseorang. Mengetahui golongan darah pada masing-masing individu sangat penting sebagai antisipasi dalam beberapa kondisi tertentu yang membutuhkan transfusi darah dari orang lain. Terlebih pada pasien COVID-19 lebih rentan mengalami anemia atau kadar hemoglobin yang dibawah normal sehingga dibutuh transfusi darah. Tujuan: Memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat Dusun Tambak Bulusan tentang manfaat pemeriksaan golongan darah dan untuk melakukan pemeriksaan golongan darah di masa pandemi sehingga didapatkan data golongan darah warga yang akan memudahkan proses transfusi darah. Metode: Kegiatan dilakukan di Dusun Tambak Bulusan, Karangtengah, Kabupaten Demak, Jawa Tengah. Tahapan pengabdian masyarakat terdiri dari persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hasil: Hasil pemeriksaan menunjukkan dari 60 warga terdapat semua tipe golongan darah yaitu A, B, AB dan O dengan dominasi rhesus positif. Kesimpulan: Kegiatan Sosialisasi dan pemeriksaan golongan darah dapat memberikan pengetahuan berkaitan dengan pentingnya kebermanfaatan darah dan data golongan darah warga Dusun Tambak Bulusan dapat dimanfaatkan oleh petugas untuk keperluan admnisitrasi masyarakat. Kata Kunci : golongan darah,  pandemi, sistem ABO, sosialisasi _____________________________________________________________________________________ Abstract Background: Blood type is important for human life as it provides as a special haracteristic of a person's blood. Knowing each individual's blood type is critical in anticipation of some conditions that requires blood transfusions from other persons. Furthermore, COVID-19 people are more susceptible to anemia, or low hemoglobin levels, requiring blood transfusions. Objective: To educate the community of Tambak Bulusan Village about the benefits of blood group testing and to perform blood group tests during a pandemic in order to obtain data on residents' blood groups, which will benefit in the blood transfusion process. Method: This community service activity was carried out at the Tambak Bulusan Village, Karangtengah, Demak Regency, Central Java. The stages of community service consist of preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Result: The results showed from 60 individuals, all blood groups were present, including A, B, AB, and O, with a majority of positive rhesus. Conclusion:  Socialization activities and blood group tests can educate people of Tambak Bulusan Village with knowledge about the necessity of blood and blood type data, which health center staff can use for community administration. Abstract

Anemia is still a worldwide health issue. The high prevalence of anemia necessitates special attention because anemia can trigger a variety of health problems in the elderly. The goal of this community service is to perform hemoglobin and blood type tests on elderly residents of Tambak Bulusan village in Demak to early detection of anemia and raise awareness about anemia in the elderly. Community service activities were conducted in Tambak Bulusan Village, Karangtengah, Demak Regency, Central Java. There are three steps involved: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The hemoglobin test is performed using a POCT device, and the blood group test is performed manually. The community service was attended by 32 elderly people.  The percentage of correct answers on the pre-test and post-test was 39.7% and 71.3%, respectively. There was a difference in the level of  residents knowledge before and after education (p<0.05) with an increase in knowledge of 31.6%. The hemoglobin (Hb) level test showed an average of 11.9 ± 1.3 g/dL, with 21 residents (66%) having Hb levels below normal, 10 residents (31%) having normal Hb levels, and 1 resident (3%) having Hb levels above normal. Blood type test found all blood types, namely A, B, O, and AB rhesus positive with a dominance of blood type O. The conclusion after the community service activities, the knowledge of elderly residents increased by 31.6%. A total of 21 residents (66%) had hemoglobin levels below normal or showed signs of anemia. All types of blood types were found with a dominance of blood type O. All residents have positive rhesus.
