The results of the initial learning carried out by researchers were that there were still many students who received incomplete grades. From the test results, 21 children scored below the KKTP and 12 children scored above the KKTP. This shows that learning outcomes are still low, teacher learning is less varied, centered on the teacher (centred teacher) and students are passive, students will work if ordered by the teacher. So it is necessary to apply an appropriate learning model, namely the Discovery Learning Model. This research aims to determine the improvement in science learning outcomes through the implementation of the Discovery Learning learning model in class VII A students at SMP Negeri 2 Mlati. This research is Classroom Action Research with the research subjects being 33 students in class VII A of SMP Negeri 2 Mlati. The research was carried out in two cycles, namely cycles I and II which consisted of two meetings (1 and 2). Every meeting involves planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Data collection techniques using observation and cognitive tests. Data analysis techniques are descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The pre-test learning results for Cycle I of students completed 12 children 36.36%, after cycle I completed 24 children 72.72% and increased in cycle II which was completed to 30 children 90.90%. Research instruments: observation, documentation and written test. Indicators of success: learning outcomes of at least 84% of the total students have completed 75 or in the independent curriculum have achieved the Learning Goal Achievement Criteria and an average class score of 75. So it can be concluded that the use of the discovery learning learning model can significantly improve students' science learning outcomes class VII A of SMP Negeri 2 Mlati. ABSTRAKHasil pembelajaran di awal yang dilakukan peneliti masih banyak peserta didik yang memperoleh nilai belum tuntas. Dari hasil tes diperoleh nilai dibawah KKTP 21 anak dan yang memperoleh nilai diatas KKTP 12 anak. Hal ini menunjukkan hasil pembelajaran masih rendah, pembelajaran guru kurang bervariasi, berpusat pada guru (center teacher) dan peserta didik pasif, peserta didik akan bekerja jika diperintahkan oleh guru. Sehingga diperlukan penerapan model pembelajaran yang sesuai yakni Model Discovery Learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar IPA melalui pelaksanaan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning pada peserta didik kelas VII A SMP Negeri 2 Mlati. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan subjek penelitian peserta didik kelas VII A SMP Negeri 2 Mlati berjumlah 33 anak. Penelitian dilakukan dua siklus yakni siklus I dan II yang terdiri dari dua pertemuan (1 dan 2). Setiap pertemuan ada perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan observasi dan tes kognitif. Teknik analisis data adalah deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil belajar pre test Siklus I peserta didik tuntas 12 anak 36,36% , setelah siklus I tuntas 24 anak 72,72% dan meningkat pada siklus II yang tuntas menjadi 30 anak 90,90%. Instrumen penelitian: observasi, dokumentasi dan tes tertulis. Indikator keberhasilan: hasil belajar minimal 84% dari total peserta didik tuntas 75 atau dalam kurikulum merdeka telah mencapai Kriteria Ketercapaian Tujuan Pembelajaran dan nilai rata-rata kelas 75. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran discovery learning secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA peserta didik kelas VII A SMP Negeri 2 Mlati.
