Abstract

The purpose of this study is to detail the main causative factors of reservoir water tank issues that lead to delays in operating the main engine. The data analysis method used is qualitative descriptive analysis. The results show that the reasons for the compressor malfunction during the maneuvering of the MV. Charlotte include broken piston rings, damaged compressor cylinder head gaskets, leaks in high and low-pressure valves, and compression leaks in the compressor. The solution involves shutting down the compressor, closing the intake/outlet valves, removing the connecting rod bolts, replacing the piston rings, conducting a running test, cleaning the cylinder head surface, applying liquid gasket, and ensuring no leakage after installation. It is important to check and ensure the cylinder head bolts are tightened according to the manufacturer's manual. Additionally, shutting down the compressor, opening the valves, and performing skimming or replacing damaged components are necessary. Energy savings can be achieved by improving the compressed air system, which can reduce operational and maintenance costs. Compressor efficiency can be enhanced by using automatic controls to regulate compressor operation as needed and maintaining the system's air pressure as low as possible to minimize leakage. The conclusion emphasizes that efforts to ensure the compressor functions properly during ship maneuvers include repairing or replacing compressor components when damage is identified. If repairs are not possible, component replacement must be carried out immediately without delay.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the influence of leadership behavior and motivation on employee performance at PT Citra Niaga Mandiri Pare-Pare. This type of research uses a quantitative descriptive research method with a sample size of 70 people. The analytical methods used are linear regression analysis and correlation analysis with hypothesis testing using the T-test, F-test, and determination test (R2). The research results obtained are: (1) Leadership behavior (X1) has a positive and significant effect on the Employee Performance variable at PT Citra Niaga Mandiri (2) The Motivation variable (X2) has a positive and significant effect on the Employee Performance variable at PT Citra Niaga Mandiri (3) There is a significant simultaneous/correlated effect between leadership and motivation on employee performance at PT Citra Niaga Mandiri. Leadership behavior and motivation have a moderate effect on the employee performance of PT Citra Niaga Mandiri Parepare..

Abstract

This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach and data presentation in the form of Fish Bone diagrams with observation, documentation, and interview methods. The results of this study show that there are problems that occur in the process of extending the safety certificate of tugboats at KSOP Class I Balikpapan, namely in the lack of accuracy, less efficient, and less optimal in the process of extending the safety certificate of tugboats, in the results of the inspection report there is a lack of equipment on the royal tb 7 ship, lack of maintenance of equipment on board. The solution to improve performance in the process of tugboat safety certificate extension at KSOP Class I Balikpapan is by providing evaluation, training to develop skills, in the manual system it is recommended to be changed into an electronic system in order to optimize and streamline time in the payment process, and on the shortcomings on board are given evaluation and training on the importance of sailing safety to reduce the risk of accidents at sea, checking equipment that is almost expired, and conducting regular maintenance.

Abstract

The maritime industry carries a crucial role in the global economy, serving as the lifeline for transporting goods between countries. However, despite its vital role, the industry continues to grapple with serious work safety issues. Accidents on board ships are a persistent problem that can result in fatal consequences, ranging from severe physical injury to the loss of lives of seafarers who risk themselves at sea. The unique and often challenging working environment on board ships contributes to the complexity of these risks. This research aims to identify the factors causing work accidents on the MT Pribumi vessel and analyze strategies for addressing them. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach through direct observation of the crew at work, in-depth interviews with the crew and safety officers, and a literature review of previous research on maritime safety. The results show that work accidents are generally caused by a lack of compliance with safety standards, insufficient safety training, high-risk working environmental conditions, and inadequate supervision. Recommended prevention strategies include the implementation of a stricter permit to work system, the utilization of technology such as virtual reality in safety training, the improvement of safety awareness and culture, and more intensive supervision. The effective implementation of these integrated strategies is expected to significantly reduce the number of work accidents and create a safer working environment for the crew on board ships.
