<![CDATA[This study aims to: (1) To improve students' mathematical communication skills by applying the Realistic Mathematics Education learning model to the material of the Two-Variable Linear Equation System in class VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Tarutung. (2) To describe how the process of completing student answers in solving mathematical problems in the material of the System of Two Variable Linear Equations after applying learning with Realistic Mathematics Education. This research is a Classroom Action Research. The subjects of this research were class VIII-A students of SMP Negeri 2 Tarutung. This study consisted of two cycles and at the end of each cycle a mathematical communication ability test was given to determine the level of students' mathematical communication ability. (1) From the results of data analysis in cycle I, an average value of 57.94 was obtained, then the average value increased in cycle II to 81.12. Then it was also found that the mastery of classical learning in cycle II reached 87.5%. (2) The process of students' answers in completing the mathematical communication ability test is in the good category. This can be seen from the fact that students have been able to solve problems with the right algorithm and reduced student errors in counting. Based on this description, it can be concluded that students' mathematical communication abilities increased after applying the Realistic Mathematics Education learning model in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Tarutung.]]>
