Pandemi Covid-19 berdampak sangat luas dan dalam pada kemampuan sosio-ekonomi masyarakat Indonesia khususnya yang berada pada lapisan kelas menengah bawah, bawah dan terbawah. Tanpa memiliki ketrampilan khusus, buruh gendong di Pasar Beringharjo, Yogyakarta termasuk kelompok terdampak yang tidak hanya pasa masa pandemic namun juga setelahnya. Dengan melakukan wawancara kualitatif melibatkan 9 informan buru gendong, penelitian mendalami dampak sosio-ekonomi jangka menengah-panjang pasca Pademi Covid-19 tahun 2019-2021. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa pendapatan buruh gendong di Pasar Beringharjo mengalami penurunan dikarenakan menurunnya jumlah pengguna jasa buruh gendong akibat pandemi covid-19. Proses pemulihan ekonomi yang relatif lambat mengakibatkan stagnasi hingga kemunduran kemampuan sosio-ekonomi mereka. Tanpa adanya jarring-jaring sosial, mereka semakin berada pada tataran terbawah dalam lapisan sosial masyarakat tanpa adanya peluang mobilitas vertikal yang terbuka.The Covid-19 pandemic has had a very broad and deep impact on the socio-economic capabilities of Indonesian people, especially those in the lower, lower, and lowest middle classes. Without special skills, porters at Beringharjo Market, Yogyakarta are among the groups affected not only during the pandemic but also after. By conducting qualitative interviews involving 9 porter informants, the study explored the medium-long term socio-economic impacts after the 2019-2021 Covid-19 Pandemic. The results of the study showed that the income of porters at Beringharjo Market decreased due to the decreasing number of users of porter services due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The relatively slow economic recovery process resulted in stagnation and decline in their socio-economic capabilities. Without social networks, they are increasingly at the bottom of the social strata of society without any opportunities for open vertical mobility.
