Abstract

Talking about faith has become a common thing in the life of a believer. So, it can be identified that the life of a believer is a life that runs by faith. In this article analyze an understanding of St. Maximus on faith. So many people have an understanding of faith that faith is often misunderstood and some people think that it is enough to have faith alone and they will be saved. Therefore, in this case St. his perspective on faith is spiritual and profound. He considered that faith must be based on full belief in God which is actualized based on actions, not on things that are not based on God's will. This study aims to explain the understanding of faith that brings the knowledge of God based on St. Maximus. The research method used in writing this article is a literature review that focuses on the views of St. Maximus and is supported by other literature. The results of this study indicate that faith brings divine knowledge which gives birth to virtue.AbstrakBerbicara tentang iman sudah menjadi hal yang lazim bagi kehidupan orang percaya. Sehingga dapat di identifikasikan bahwa kehidupan orang percaya adalah kehidupan yang berjalan dengan iman. Dalam artikel ini menganalisa sebuah pemahaman St. Maximus tentang iman. Begitu banyak orang yang memiliki pemahaman tentang iman sehingga kerap kali iman disalah artikan dan beberapa orang berpandangan bahwa cukup dengan beriman saja maka akan diselamatkan. Oleh karena itu dalam hal ini St. perspektifnya tentang iman adalah hal yang spiritual dan begitu dalam. Ia menilai bahwa iman harus berdasarkan keyakinan penuh kepada Allah yang diaktualisasikan berdasarkan perbuatan-perbuatan bukan terletak pada hal-hal yang tidak berdasarkan kehendak Allah. Dengan demikian Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pemahaman iman yang mendatangkan pengenalan akan Allah berdasarkan St. Maximus. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam menulis artikel ini adalah kajian literatur yang berfokus pada pandangan St Maximus dan di didukung oleh literatur-literatur lainnya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa iman mendatangkan pengetahuan ilahi yang melahirkan kebajikan.

Abstract

Life is often ambiguous, and many people struggle with various problems. Psalm 23 is a familiar biblical text that describes God as a shepherd who nurtures and saves His people. The purpose of this writing is to understand the theological meaning of Psalm 23, where the Lord Jesus guides the way of life for His people. The author supports their discussion with related books and journal articles. The use of this method aims to clarify the author's intent and purpose for the reader. This article employs a text analysis approach to examine the Lord Jesus as the good shepherd, who is capable of ruling over all creation and serving as a bridge for individuals to overcome life's challenges.

Abstract

Today's world is a world that is faced with endless polemics. Ever since man fell into sin, man has lived in rebellion against God. Because of the chaotic world, the Lord Jesus Himself wants believers to continue to carry out their responsibilities on this earth, namely to be His successors in doing His work in this world, namely to be salt and light for people who do not know God. Seeing the state and condition of the world today which is increasingly degenerating, salt and light should characterize believers, so that through their lives they produce and impact and influence displayed through a consistent attitude to life, integrity, character, and ethics which are the image of Jesus Christ. The purpose of this research is to find out the meaning of salt and light of the world according to the gospel of Matthew 5:13-16 and its implications for Nias society. The research method used in writing this article is literature review and exegesis. Through observations that have been traced, the results of research from the Gospel of Matthew 5: 13-16 show that salt and light have functions that can provide changes wherever they will be.

Abstract

Abstract. This article explores spiritual transformation through silence and the Jesus Prayer. The Jesus Prayer, discussed in the book by Kallistos Ware, has deep origins, meaning and practice in Christian spirituality. Ware explains how Jesus' prayer was central to the prayer lives of many saints, helping to achieve union with God and a core experience with Him. Silence and the Jesus Prayer offer a space for reflection, spiritual awareness, and purification of the soul, overcoming the existential Crisis, which brings the individual closer to God. With an integration of classical spiritual theories and modern approaches, as well as personal experience, this article illustrates how the Jesus Prayer and silence complement each other in one's spiritual journey. The resulting spiritual transformation is not just a concept, but a life experience that can change deeply and provide deeper meaning for the individual who practices it. Abstrak. Artikel ini mengeksplorasi transformasi spiritual melalui keheningan dan Doa Yesus. Doa Yesus, yang dibahas dalam buku Kallistos Ware, memiliki asal usul, makna, dan praktik yang dalam dalam spiritualitas Kristen. Ware menjelaskan bagaimana doa Yesus merupakan inti kehidupan doa banyak orang kudus, membantu mencapai kesatuan dengan Tuhan dan pengalaman inti dengan-Nya. Keheningan dan Doa Yesus menawarkan ruang untuk refleksi, kesadaran spiritual, dan pemurnian jiwa, mengatasi Krisis eksistensial, yang membawa individu lebih dekat kepada Tuhan. Dengan integrasi teori spiritual klasik dan pendekatan modern, serta pengalaman pribadi, artikel ini menggambarkan bagaimana Doa Yesus dan keheningan saling melengkapi dalam perjalanan spiritual seseorang. Transformasi spiritual yang dihasilkan bukan sekedar konsep, namun merupakan pengalaman hidup yang dapat berubah secara mendalam dan memberikan makna yang lebih dalam bagi individu yang mengamalkannya.
