Abstract

21st-century learning emphasizes the mastery of knowledge as a whole through the investigation of several points of view of knowledge, one of which is inquiry and STEM models. This study aims to determine the magnitude of the size of 20 studies on the effect of STEM-integrated inquiry models on science learning and learning outcomes. The moderator variables considered are education level and type of publication. The analyzed studies were obtained from Google Scholar and ERIC databases between 2013 and 2023. The results of the analysis showed that the influence of the STEM integrated inquiry model in physics learning on student learning outcomes had an average effect size value of 0.78 which was included in the medium category, based on 20 studies that had been collected. The distribution of studies discussing STEM-integrated inquiry models was most found in 2020 and international journals. The influence of STEM looks different at each level of education, with a significant dominance of influence occurring at the high school level.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing interactive multimedia in assessing 4C skills in physics learning. This effectiveness is evaluated from the 4C skills (Critical thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication). This research was conducted because there are still many physics lessons that prioritize mastery of concepts only, which causes a lack of interest in students' learning. Therefore, interactive multimedia is needed, which can make students more enthusiastic about participating in learning through pictures, videos, and moving animations. The method used is a literature study with a quantitative approach. This research is limited to the effect of using interactive multimedia on physics material at the elementary, middle school, high school, and university levels. Researchers obtained 20 references from 2012-2022 from Sinta, Google Scholar, Garuda, and others. From the analysis of the literature study that has been carried out, it is concluded that interactive multimedia significantly influences the assessment of 4C skills (Critical thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication). The significant influence is on critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The importance of scientific skills in the future and Indonesia's low ranking internationally have not escaped the government's attention, as evidenced by the existence of the National Literacy Movement Program. In this regard, a study was conducted which aimed to describe data on students' initial abilities in scientific literacy in the material of work and energy as well as momentum and impulse. This research is part of a preliminary study of research into the development of teaching materials to improve students' scientific literacy skills. The total sample consisted of 100 students from three SMAN schools in the city of Padang with the categories low, medium and high based on UTBK scores in 2023. The research sampling technique was cluster random sampling. The scientific literacy ability test consists of 10 complex multiple choice questions. The results of the analysis prove that the students' initial level of ability in scientific literacy in the material of work and energy as well as momentum and impulse is included in the very low category, with an average percentage of 35.4% in the context aspect, an average percentage of 35.6% in the content aspect, and an average percentage of 35.3% in the competency aspect.
