Abstract

This paper aims to construct the church's response in facing the reality of migration in Batak land with the church's starting point as a community (communal ecclesiology). Communal ecclesiology requires an understanding of the cultural context and local wisdom of the community where the church grows. The context of the Christian community and churches in Batak land is characterized as communal life and thickened to the local wisdom. It is concluded that Christianity and churches in Batak land could adopt communal ecclesiology in response to the current migration reality. This article overviews the life of the early church in Acts. 2:41-47 as communal ecclesiology shows the Church's nature in celebrating personal faith communally within the faith community in three ways, namely daily labor, fellowship labor, and God's labor.

Abstract

This article examines the church's role in preserving ancestral heritage and cultural identity in the Toba Lake region, amid increasing resource exploitation and economic pressures. Many Batak communities are being pressured to relinquish their land, resulting in the erosion of their livelihoods and traditional values. This article aims to articulate a theological and pastoral framework for church involvement in land justice and cultural preservation. Using a qualitative method grounded in contextual theological reflection and socio-cultural analysis, the research draws from biblical principles, particularly the theology of land, stewardship, and Imago Dei. Intersecting them with Batak Toba customs. The findings suggest that churches can serve as prophetic mediators by fostering partnerships among communities, governments, and investors, and by strengthening vulnerable communities through holistic diakonia. This includes education, advocacy, and economic empowerment. Theologically grounded and culturally rooted, this approach empowers churches to be agents of justice, dignity, and sustainable development.

Abstract

AbstractThis article presents the dilemma of girls working as ulos weavers in North Tapanuli Regency. By using cultural, socio-economic, and pastoral psychology analysis, it is found that: ulos weaving is a gender-based work because it is specifically done by women; parents let their children work as ulos weavers to meet the family’s needs; forms of conformity in adolescence in Batak society are influenced by patrilineal culture. Based on these findings, a theological-psychological pastoral approach is offered which aims to free children from injustice and violence by building democratic relational relations within the family. Family counseling with the family system theory method is considered useful in helping dysfunctional families as a background of children working as weavers. The method used in this article is a qualitative research method based on working methods of literature and verbatim research as field data collection tools. AbstrakArtikel ini menyajikan fenomena dilematik anak perempuan bertenun ulos di Kabupaten Tapanuli Utara. Dengan menggunakan analisis budaya, sosial ekonomi, dan pastoral psikologi ditemukan bahwa: bertenun ulos adalah pekerjaan berbasis gender karena khusus dilakukan oleh kaum perempuan; orang tua yang membiarkan anak bertenun untuk mencukupi kebutuhan hidup keluarga; bentuk konformitas pada usia remaja dalam masyarakat Batak dipengaruhi oleh budaya patrilineal. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut maka ditawarkan respons berbasis pastoral teologis-psikologis yang bertujuan membebaskan anak dari ketidakadilan dan kekerasan, yaitu dengan membangun hubungan relasional demokratis di dalam keluarga. Konseling keluarga dengan metode Teori Sistem Keluarga dianggap mampu untuk menolong keluarga yangdifungsional sebagai latar belakang anak bekerja bertenun. Metode yang digunakan pada artikel ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif berdasarkan metode kerja studi pustaka dan verbatim sebagai alat pengumpul data lapangan.

Abstract

This article describes the debilitating grief situation of the entire community due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This grief causes heartbreak the requires guidance of pastoral counseling. This grief occurred because of the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus which obliged every community to do social/physical distancing, social resitrictions even lockdown. On the other hand, churches that are midst of the community have the responsibility to response and change that have occurred due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2020, HKBP set as the year repositioning the gospel, so HKBP needs to change its approach how to serve congregation/community. The method used to answer the problems posed in this paper is literature review by utilizing printed book sources, international websites and other articles related to the Covid-19 pandemi

Abstract

This research aims to get a picture of self-regulation in undergraduate students who play a dual role as working mothers. It is also to get a picture of the subject's ability to implement an effective and efficient self-regulation strategy so that the subject avoids the negative impact that will be received. The number of subjects in this study were three people. This study included research descriptive research. According to the method of data collection, this study used cross-sectional research, where data is taken only once in a period of time. Data collection is done by interview and observation methods. The results of this study indicate that the research subjects try to make themselves feel comfortable by following the right path so that subjects can feel happy while undergoing all roles. The relative like husband and other family members make the subjects more enthusiastic in carrying out his dual role.

Abstract

This paper is a study analytical literature role diakonia in respond poverty and disability. In analyze study this writer collect poverty data and disability from study earlier. For next writer analyze it from various source book and then expose role theology diakonia in respond problem poverty and disability. As for results from study this namely: diakonia is a calling for share life to fellow specifically they clan poor and the oppressed because a limitations physique nor mentally. Experienced people limitations physique and mentally called with disabled disability that is those who have disabled in a manner biological and physical cause sufferer disturbed in to do activity every day. Situation this is necessary responded with method apply the diakonia which one duty from church. The church not only to do service in a manner routine will but must open eye for those who experience suffering as well as presenting the kingdom of God in the midst clan poor and disabled disability.
