Abstract

Mathematics learning is considered challenging for many students, with some sh. owing little interest or motivation to engage with the subject. This is often due to difficulties encountered during the learning process. This study aims to analyze students' difficulties in learning Mathematics, specifically focusing on bar diagram topics. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis involves data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Findings from the study reveal that the majority of Grade IVA students at SDN Kalicari 01 Semarang experience difficulties in remembering technical terms such as X-axis, Y-axis, and frequency. They also struggle with explaining bar diagram concepts in their own words and recalling the steps involved in creating bar diagrams. Efforts to address these challenges include implementing a more structured learning approach, actively interacting with class and support teachers for guidance, and utilizing aids or interactive media to enhance student engagement and comfort in learning. Additionally, remedial activities are conducted to help students improve their grades and assist teachers in assessing student learning progress

Abstract

This research aims to analyze based on the Indonesian language learning style of class VA SDN Kalicari 01 for the 2023/2024 academic year. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The research sample was the VA class of SDN Kalicari 01. The data collection techniques used were observation, distributing questionnaires, and interviews. The results of the analysis determining the most dominant learning style are the visual learning style with a frequency of 13 percentages of 46.43%. The auditory learning style with a frequency of 10 percentages of 35.71%. The learning style that is the least is kinesthetic with a frequency of 5percentage of 17.86%.

Abstract

Kesulitan belajar membaca pada anak-anak berdampak pada hasil akademik mereka secara keseluruhan (Fauzi, 2018; Tarigan, 2008). Membaca adalah proses menerima pesan dari penulis melalui bahasa tulis. Stimulasi yang diterima anak-anak memengaruhi kemampuan membaca mereka. Penelitian kualitatif menggambarkan fenomena seperti perilaku, observasi, motivasi, dan tindakan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode ilmiah yang berbeda (Moleong, 2013) pada bulan Feb 2024 di Kelas I SDN Kalicai 01 Kota Semarang dengan 25 siswa kelas IA sebagai subjek. Penelitian menggunakan metode observasi dan wawancara. Faktor kesulitan membaca awal adalah minim minat belajar membaca, kurang pelajaran tambahan di sekolah, dan kurangnya bimbingan orang tua di rumah. Keluarga sebagai pusat pendidikan penting untuk keberhasilan belajar siswa, termasuk siswa dengan kemampuan membaca yang kurang baik. Kesulitan membaca siswa dapat dilihat dari sulitnya mengenali huruf diftong, melewatkan huruf, berhenti mengeja, bicara cadel, dan pemahaman yang buruk terhadap isi bacaan. Faktor-faktor penyebabnya antara lain kesehatan buruk, gangguan pengucapan, dan kurangnya dukungan orang tua. Pengelolaan sekolah yang baik membantu dengan adanya pojok baca dan penerapan model pendidikan membaca oleh guru-guru. Siswa sulit membaca karena kurangnya keterampilan dasar.
