Abstract

In today's developments, the role of educators is not only needed in terms of sharing knowledge with students but also in preparing teaching media and materials that can help accelerate the delivery of material. The purpose of this study was to explore the needs analysis in developing physics e-modules on work and energy material for class X Senior High School. This study employed surveys under quantitative and qualitative approaches. There were 153 students involved in this study. The quantitative data were collected through learning resources and learning media instruments, while qualitative data were collected using interview instruments, questionnaires, observation, analysis of procedures and survey document. The results of this study showed that most of the learning resources and teaching materials used by teachers in schools were printed books with a score of 81%, and the most frequently used media in teaching was PowerPoint media with a score of 41.67%. This fact resulted in the lack of students’ interest in solving everyday problems and low students’ learning outcomes. In other words, the learning media used in the classroom did not suit their needs, so the development of teaching materials and media is needed to facilitate students in learning activities independently. Teaching Work and Energy materials that are widely applied in everyday life requires media in the form of physics e-modules. The development of physics e-modules on work and energy materials can overcome the problems found in the classroom, especially when teaching that material.

Abstract

This literature review aims to investigate how the portfolio assessment used in research influences the learning outcomes of students based on the objectives of the analysis, research design used, level of education, learning topic, and form of an assessment tool. The most significant benefit of portfolio assessment was obtained in applied research/influence/effectiveness, namely 61.54%. Science learning with a research design had the highest frequency in a quasi-experimental design of 42.31%. The level of education was another factor that affected the portfolio assessment of science learning. Portfolio assessment in science learning was more prevalent at the upper secondary education level, with a percentage of 57.69%. The application of portfolio assessment in science learning (integrated science, physics, and biology) revealed that physics subjects attracted more research interest, namely 50%. Based on the research results and discussion presented in this article, it can be concluded that the portfolio assessment of science learning can be used at various levels of education. The novelty of this research is that it synthesizes the existing literature on the impact of implementing portfolio assessment in science learning on learning outcomes. Portfolio assessment in science learning implies that it can arouse students’ interest in the subject, motivate them to engage in active learning, improve students’ mastery of topics, and inform parents of their child’s educational progress. Future research may explore other aspects of portfolio assessment, such as its validity, reliability, and feedback mechanisms.

Abstract

This study is a development research using the Borg and Gall model. This study aims to determine the design of electronic enrichment books. The instrument used was a questionnaire and the data was analyzed descriptively based on the validity and practicality score sheets. The product was validated by experts and the practicality was validated by teachers and students. The results of the validity data showed an average value of all aspects of0.88 with very high criteria. The validity results show that the electronic enrichment book meets valid data so that it is worthy of use and a little revision and the practicality results show that the electronic enrichment book has an average value of all aspects of 0.81 with very high criteria from teacher practitioners and an average value of all aspects of 0.70 with high criteria from student practitioners. The conclusion obtained is that the design of this electronic enrichment book can be used from the valid results and can make it easier to use electronic enrichment books from the results of practitioners.
