Abstract

The Archipelago's Capital City Region (IKN) is a candidate for Indonesia's new capital city. It requires in-depth research across all relevant sectors to ensure the comfort of the people of Indonesia. Numerous studies have been conducted in various fields, including social, cultural, political, economic, and others. However, no study has provided a climate-based perspective on IKN compared to the others. Extreme climate indices calculation for the IKN region used the latest projection data, SSP, and statistical analysis techniques via R programming. According to 18 extreme climate indices, the IKN region is expected to experience an increasing trend in both temperature and precipitation indices until 2050. The temperature index that experienced the most significant increase is T90p, while the rainfall index is RX1day. In the IKN region, there is a difference of about 300 days between wet days (CWD) and dry days (CDD), with 350 days being wet and 35 days being dry. Spatial projection analysis has revealed an increase in CWD values in most of the IKN area during the rainy season and a decrease in CWD values during the dry season.

Abstract

The potential of the tourism sector is very important, especially in terms of economic development. One of the factors affecting the tourism sector is the comfort of climatic conditions. Information about climatic conditions becomes the main factor in choosing the destination of a tourist trip. This study aims to analyze the level of climate comfort in the Jam Gadang tourist area of West Sumatra Province based on the Temperature Humidity Index (THI), Discomfort Index (DI), and Humidex Index. The use of secondary data from the parameters of air temperature and daily air humidity obtained from the Bukit Kototabang Global Atmospheric Monitoring Station with a period range of 2010-2020. Processing using R-Studio and Microsoft Excel software. The method used is descriptive analysis. The results showed that the level of climate comfort in the jam gadang tourist area based on the THI, DI, and Humidex indices was included in the comfort category. May is the month with the highest level of comfort. then November is the month with the lowest level of comfort. All three indices have positive correlation values. The influence of the IOD phenomenon when neutral conditions, DM+, and DM- as a whole shows that the index value categories THI, DI, humidex belong to the comfort category. However, humidex index values when DM+ and DM- conditions fall into the category are a little uncomfortable. The average value of the THI index when it is neutral is 20.8 ºC, while at the time of DMI+ and DMI- the average index is the same at 21.7 ºC. Then, the average index value of DI when neutral conditions is 20.9 ºC, while when conditions are DMI+ and DMI- the average is 21.7 ºC. Then, the average value of the humidex index when the neutral condition is 28.1 ºC. While at the time of DMI+ and DMI- the average index is the same at 29.5 ºC.

Abstract

Geographical location and topography determine the characteristics of atmospheric parameters in a location. Surabaya has a geographical and topographical location that is different from Sidoarjo, especially Surabaya to the north has a natural barrier in the form of Madura Island. This study aims to prove the difference in the character of atmospheric parameters between Surabaya and Sidoarjo. This study used the Windrose method and an average comparison, the data used in this study were Ogimet data from 2 Observation Stations, namely Djuanda Meteorological Station and Tanjung Perak. The results of this study show that the direction of arrival of the wind is dominant from the east direction for the Stamet Djuanda region while for the Tanjung Perak Stamet the wind is dominated from the Southeast direction, the area affected by land and sea winds is the Stamet Djuanda area where the sea breeze starts at 18.00-00.00 and for onshore wind starts at 03.00-09.00 while for Stamet Tanjung Perak has no effect due to the barrier, namely Madura Island. Based on the average comparison method, different values of temperature, humidity and precipitation parameters were obtained, indicating the influence of georaphysical and topographic locations of the 2 research areas.
