Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Management Information Systems (MIS) in the organizational decision-making process. MIS serves as a vital tool in supporting the effectiveness and efficiency of decisions made by managers and organizational leaders. Using a qualitative approach, this research employs a case study at a government institution to illustrate how MIS contributes to the quality of information used in decision-making. The results show that a well-implemented MIS can enhance the speed, accuracy, and relevance of data in the decision-making process. Management Information Systems provide accurate and timely information needed to facilitate decision-making and problem-solving processes, enabling the functions of planning, control, and operations to run effectively. This scientific paper uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The findings indicate that the development and management of MIS within an organization can lead to decisions that are not only fast and accurate but also aligned with best practices in an effective and efficient manner. Information has become a crucial resource in managing organizations.

Abstract

Effective project management is a key factor for success in the construction industry, especially for contractor companies managing multiple projects simultaneously. Common issues often encountered include lack of coordination, delayed information flow, and difficulties in monitoring project progress in real-time. This study aims to design an integrated project management information system to support the operational activities of contractors, ranging from planning and execution to project reporting. The methodology used is the waterfall approach, starting from system requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing. The result of this study is a web-based information system prototype capable of managing project data, scheduling, resources, and project performance reports. It is expected that this system can improve efficiency, information accuracy, and decision-making in contractor project management.

Abstract

The development of modern business is marked by intense competition, rapid market changes, and the growing need for fast, data-driven decision-making. In this context, Management Information Systems (MIS) play a crucial role as strategic tools that support the formulation and implementation of business strategies. This article aims to theoretically examine the contribution of MIS to business strategy success in the digital era. Using a descriptive qualitative method through literature review, the discussion focuses on the role of MIS in enhancing operational efficiency, gaining competitive advantage, and supporting strategic decision-making. The findings indicate that MIS is not merely a technological or administrative tool, but an integral part of business processes that facilitates cross-departmental data integration, increases information transparency, and drives data-based innovation. Therefore, the optimal use of MIS has become a critical requirement for organizations striving to survive and thrive amid digital disruption.

Abstract

Digital transformation has encouraged organizations from various sectors to optimize the use of data as a strategic asset in supporting decision-making, service innovation, and increasing operational efficiency. However, the complexity of information systems, the increasing volume of data, and the diversity of data sources and formats pose serious challenges in terms of data governance. In this context, data architecture becomes a crucial element that functions as a structured framework to systematically manage, integrate, and secure data. This study aims to explore the role of data architecture in improving the effectiveness of data governance amidst the demands of digital transformation. Through a qualitative approach with literature studies and analysis of best practices from various organizations, this article identifies core components of data architecture such as data modeling, metadata management, integration between systems, and information security mechanisms. The findings show that the implementation of a comprehensive data architecture can improve data quality, strengthen accountability, accelerate interoperability between systems, and create a strong foundation for the implementation of adaptive and sustainable data governance.In addition, data architecture also facilitates the creation of consistent standards and policies, thus helping organizations comply with regulations and increasing stakeholder trust. Thus, data architecture not only plays a role as a technical aspect, but also as a strategic enabler in supporting the success of digital transformation based on reliable, structured, and high-value data.

Abstract

The use of e-wallets can increase consumptive behavior in Gen Z students because of the ease of transactions and promotions offered. E-wallets make shopping easier and more impulsive, increasing the possibility of unplanned spending. The development of digital technology has encouraged the ease of non-cash transactions through various e-wallet platforms such as OVO, DANA, GOPAY, SHOPEEPAY and others. Generation Z as a modern digital generation is an active user of this service, which is suspected to affect their consumption patterns. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method on students using e-wallets. The data was analyzed using regression techniques to see the relationship between the intensity of e-wallet use and the level of consumptive behavior.

Abstract

The development of the Internet of Things (IoT) has driven improvements in efficiency and effectiveness within management information systems (MIS) across various sectors, including industry, government, and education. However, increased connectivity and data exchange among devices introduce new risks related to data security and privacy. This article aims to identify strategies for managing data privacy in IoT-based management information systems through a conceptual approach and a review of recent literature. The findings indicate that effective strategies include implementing end-to-end encryption, multi-factor authentication, data anonymization, and strengthening data governance policies based on cybersecurity principles. In addition, integrating technical approaches with organizational policies is essential to ensure comprehensive privacy protection. This study contributes to the development of an adaptive data privacy management model in response to future IoT advances.
