Abstract

The optimization of local resources is a key strategy in improving community welfare, particularly in rural in Perkebunan Maryke Village. Through economic literacy, communities can be empowered to understand, manage, and effectively and sustainably utilize the potential resources around them. This article discusses the role of economic literacy in strengthening the community's capacity to manage local resources to achieve better economic welfare. It also explores how empowerment programs, such as the Community Service Program (KKN), can act as catalysts in expanding the community's understanding of economics, particularly in managing local assets such as agriculture, fisheries, and handicrafts. The study results show that good economic literacy enables communities to make more informed decisions regarding investment, production, and marketing of local products, which ultimately contributes to increased income and social welfare. Therefore, strengthening economic literacy is a strategic step in empowering communities to become more economically independent through the utilization of their local resources.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan (1) untuk mengetahui pengaruh akses keuangan terhadap keberlanjutan UMKM halal di Kecamatan Medan Timur, (2) untuk mengetahui pengaruh strategi pemasaran terhadap keberlanjutan UMKM halal di Kecamatan Medan Timur, (3) untuk mengetahui pengaruh kepatuhan halal terhadap keberlanjutan UMKM halal di Kecamatan Medan Timur, (4) Untuk menganalisis pengaruh secara simultan simultan akses keuangan, strategi pemasaran dan kepatuhan halal terhadap keberlanjutan UMKM halal di Kecamatan Medan Timur. Lokasi penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Medan Timur, Kota Medan, Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif, dengan bantuan software SPSS 25. Berdasarkan kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada responden sebanyak 88 menunjukkan bahwa akses keuangan tidak memiliki pengaruh dan tidak signifikan terhadap keberlanjutan UMKM sebesar 1,1 %. Strategi pemasaran memiliki pengaruh dan signifikan terhadap keberlanjutan UMKM sebesar 54,2 %. Dan kepatuhan halal memiliki pengaruh dan signifikan terhadap keberlanjutan UMKM sebesar 37,5%. Sedangkan secara simultan akses keuangan, strategi pemasaran, dan kepatuhan halal berpengaruh dan signifikan terhadap keberlanjutan UMKM sebesar 79,5 % sedangkan sisanya sebesar 20,5 % dijelaskan oleh variabel lain yang tidak digunakan dalam penelitian ini.   This study aims (1) to determine the effect of financial access on the sustainability of halal MSMEs in East Medan District, (2) to determine the effect of marketing strategies on the sustainability of halal SMEs in East Medan District, (3) to determine the effect of halal compliance on the sustainability of halal SMEs in East Medan District, (4) to analyze the simultaneous influence of financial access, marketing strategies and halal compliance on the sustainability of halal SMEs in East Medan District. The location of this research was carried out in East Medan District, Medan City, North Sumatra Province. This research method is quantitative, with the help of SPSS 25 software. Based on the questionnaire distributed to 88 respondents, it shows that financial access has no influence and is not significant on the sustainability of SMEs by 1.1%. Marketing strategy has an influence and is significant to the sustainability of SMEs by 54.2%. And halal compliance has an influence and is significant to the sustainability of SMEs by 37.5%. Meanwhile, simultaneously financial access, marketing strategy, and halal compliance have a significant effect on the sustainability of SMEs by 79.5% while the remaining 20.5% is explained by other variables not used in this study.
