Abstract

Research has been conduced on MRI Brain examiation procedures in cases of trigeminal neuralgia at the radiology installation of the NTB Privincial Hospital. The purpose of this study was to determine how the MRI Brain examination procedure in cases of trigeminal neuralgia at the radiology installation of the NTB Provincial Hospital and why the b-FFE sequence was used in the MRI Brain examination of trigeminal neuralgia cases at the Radiologi Installation of the NTB Provincial Hospital. This type of research uses qualitative research with a case study approach to MRI Brain examination in cases of trigeminal neuralgia. This research was conducted in june-july 2023 at the Radiology installation of the NTB Provincial Hospital using observation, intervie and dokumentation methods. The results of the data were processed and reduced by open coding. The results of the study of MRI Brain examination procedures in cases of trigeminal neuralgia at the Radiology Installation of the NTB Provincial Hospital. Starting with patient preparation, the patinet`s position is supine. The sequences used are DWI Axial, T2W TSE Axial, T1W FFE, T2W FLAIR, MRA, T2W TSE Coronal, T2W TSE Sagittal and b-FFE. The reason for using the b-FFE sequence is to show 12 pairs of cranial nerves, one of which is the trigeminal nerve and the b-FFE sequence can be used as a differential diagnosis against other sequences.

Abstract

Background: A CT scan is a media imaging tool that uses x-rays to obtain images/photos inside the body. Thorax CT Scan is performed to identify existing conditions in the mediastinum of the lungs. Therefore, the use of Slice Thickness is very influential in looking at the image quality of a Thorax CT Scan. Methods: This research uses qualitative research with a case study research design to investigate phenomena that occur in real life contexts using various sources as evidence. Results: The result of this research is that the use of a Slice Thickness of 3 mm in viewing image quality is good enough to display the structure of the anatomical image so that it can diagnose existing pathology. Conclusions: The Thorax CT Scan examination procedure in lung tumor cases at Bhayangkara Makassar Hospital has followed the applicable SOP. The results of the image quality using a Slice Thickness of 3 mm are quite good in diagnosing the patient's disease.

Abstract

Background: Lung tumors are the growth of abnormal lumps in lung tissue which can be benign or malignant. One diagnostic imaging modality that is more supportive of lung disorders is by using a Computed Tomography Scan examination. Image manipulation can be done to improve the appearance of the image. One of the most common image processing techniques is called windowing. This technique allows the technology to change the contrast of the displayed image by adjusting the window width (Window Width) and window level (Window Level). Method: The type of research used in this research is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental approach, which aims to determine the effect of variations in window width and window level on image quality in CT scans of the Thorax with clinical lung tumors. Using variations of Window Width and Window Level WW 1000 and WL -500, -600, -700, WW 1250, WL -500, -600, -700 and WW 1550, WL -500, -600, -700. The author took CT scan data of the Thorax with clinical lung tumors in 4 samples. Then an assessment was carried out in the form of a check list by respondents, namely 3 radiographers and 1 radiologist. The data is then processed using SPSS. Results & Conclusions: There is an influence of WW 1000 and WL -500, -600, -700, WW 1250 and WL -500, -600, -700 and WW 1550 and WL -500, -600, -700 on image quality, namely artifacts and noise on Thorax CT Scan examination with lung tumor cases, the conclusion was obtained from the results of the Friedman test which showed a p.value value of <0.001 or smaller than 0.05 so that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. From the results of the mean rank Friedman test, it is known that the value of image quality is artifacts and noise in Thorax CT scans with lung tumor cases. Variations in window width 1550 and window level 500 are able to produce the best image quality with minimal artifacts and noise. Thorax CT scan examination in lung tumor cases.
