Abstract

The background of the research was lack of the learners’ concepts due to not-optimum learning model implementation. This situation did not provide the learnres adequate opportunities to participate in the learning. This research aimed to improve the conceptual understandings of the learners. The subjects consisted of 24 learners: 8 male and 16 female learners. The researchers collected the data with test, observation, field note, and documentation. The techniques of analyizng the data were quantitative analysis for the conceptual understanding of the learners on each cycle and qualitative data analysis on each cycle. The results showed that Baboo Dancing model implementation could improve the fifth graders’ conceptual understanding at Public Primary School Babakanjawa V. The result showed improvements from the pre-cycle stage. The learning accomplishment reached a percentage of 41.66% in pre-cycle. Then, the results improved into 66.66% in cycle I and increased into 87.5% in cycle II. The improvements indicated the implementation of Bamboo Dancing could improve the conceptual understandings of the learners.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to examine students' difficulties in writing letters, words, and sentences in cursive. This study aims to improve the cursive writing skills of fifth grade students of SD Muktiharjo 01 Pati through the strategy of playing with language and writing. The method used in this study is qualitative narrative. This method makes it easier for students to understand the form of letters, words, and sentences aesthetically and functionally. The population and sample in this study were all fifth grade students of SD Muktiharjo 01 Pati with a total of 24 students. The results of the study showed that the ability to write cursive letters in grade V students at SD Muktiharjo 01 Pati was still low. Based on a preliminary study through daily writing tests, 70.8% of students had not achieved the criteria for neatness, readability, and continuity of letters. The main causal factors were the lack of writing practice at home and learning methods that had not actively involved students. These findings are the basis for the need to develop more contextual and participatory learning strategies to improve students' writing skills. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tentang kesulitan siswa dalam menuliskan huruf, kata, dan kalimat tegak bersambung. Selain itu juga, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis tegak bersambung siswa kelas V SD Muktiharjo 01 Pati melalui strategi bermain dengan bahasa dan tulisan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif secara naratif. Metode ini memudahkan siswa memahami bentuk huruf, kata, dan kalimat secara estetis dan fungsional. Populasi dan sampel pada penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas V SD Muktiharjo 01 Pati dengan total keseluruhan ada 24 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan menulis huruf tegak bersambung siswa kelas V di SD Muktiharjo 01 Pati masih rendah. Berdasarkan studi pendahuluan melalui tes menulis harian, sebanyak 70,8% siswa belum mencapai kriteria kerapian, keterbacaan, dan kesinambungan huruf. Faktor penyebab utamanya adalah kurangnya latihan menulis di rumah dan metode pembelajaran yang belum aktif melibatkan siswa. Temuan ini menjadi dasar perlunya pengembangan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih kontekstual dan partisipatif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa.
