Cultural anthropology approach and lifestyle theory are being used to see this phenomenon keenly. The result states that the Concordia club was built along with the European new settlement center establishment in 19th century in Weltevreden for European military elites at first and civil elites then in Batavia. Concordia club provided regular social entertainments such as ballroom dancing party, musics recital, vauxhall, drama performance, gastronomy services, library, and games, for the club visitors. The entertainments mentioned were also for the military and state necessity, nevertheless, as an institution, Concordia also became a place where the social relationship among Batavian elites seemed dynamic.
