Abstract

Waste is a material that is wasted or disposed of as a result of human activity or natural processes that does not yet have economic value. One way to help the process of crushing these bottles is to make a simple bottle crusher machine, it is hoped that this will increase work efficiency. Technological development is urgently needed to handle this for optimization, so a tool is made to help meet the needs of a can chopper, namely by designing a can chopper that will help the work to be faster and safer. This can chopper has dimensions of 1230 x 630 x 625 mm, with a power source generated by a 1 hp (0.746 kW) electric motor with 1400 rpm rotation and a gearbox. In designing the design of this cassava slicing machine using a pulley diameter of 56 mm and 124 mm which will be used to connect the rounds received from the motor. With a belt circumference of 680.49 mm, the actual shaft axis distance is 1161.2 mm and the contact angle between the belt and the pulley is around 169 with a ????????° correction factor of 0.97. Pulley simulation results using solidworks software with a torque load of 3.75 Nm on the pulley driver and 7.43 Nm on the driven pulley. From the provision of torque, the value of the von Mises stress on the pulley driver is 0.49 Mpa and the von Mises stress on the driven pulley is 12.68 MPa, the displacement value on the pulley driver is 0.000mm and the driven pulley is 0.0046mm, and the factor of safety value the safety on the pulley driver is 1070 ul and the safety factor on the pulley driver is 41.79 ul.

Abstract

Waste management has become an urgent issue in many regions, prompting the need for sustainable solutions in its treatment. Waste-to-Energy (WtE) power plants have emerged as a promising option, but manual control issues within them have raised some serious challenges. Temperature variations in the boiler pose a threat to efficiency and productivity, resulting in significant economic losses and adverse environmental impacts. To address this problem, this research aims to apply Machine Learning to optimize boiler temperature control. Operational data is collected and used to train a Machine Learning model capable of accurately predicting temperature. This model is then implemented into the boiler control system. The research results indicate a significant improvement in temperature stability and a reduction in operational costs. The utilization of Machine Learning technology has paved the way for more efficient and sustainable operations. With the successful implementation of Machine Learning in boiler control, this research emphasizes the crucial role of advanced technology in the development of sustainable energy industries. In conclusion, the application of Machine Learning can provide an effective solution to temperature control issues, significantly optimizing efficiency and productivity. Therefore, this research makes a valuable contribution to more efficient waste management, has a positive impact on the environment, and supports the achievement of cleaner and more sustainable renewable energy goals.

Abstract

Coconut is a type of plant from the Arecaceae and the sole member of the margos. This plant lives in tropical areas such as in Indonesia. West Kalimantan, which is one of the islands that has a large area, has the potential for the utilization of this coconut. This potential is utilized as in export needs, but due to the use of traditional technology, namely using a wedge in stripping coconut husk, there is often a delay in the export process, so technology such as a coconut husk peeler with electric power is needed which aims to obtain more stripping time. fast. The research method in the design is done by reading the literature, observation, experimental and descriptive by varying the blade with an angle of 0o and 5o in order to obtain maximum results. Coconuts whose husks are peeled using a coir peeler design with variations in angles have a peeling machine capacity of 333 pieces/hour and 383 pieces/hour. This result is greater when compared to using a wedge with an average stripping time of 180 pieces/hour, so it has a percentage of 0o of 185% and 5o of 212.78% higher, so it can help increase production and help in handling the export process.
