Abstract

Introduction to measuring tools is an important step in early childhood learning to help them understand basic measurement concepts such as length, weight and volume. Prescholl dan kindergarten at Nurul Ma'arif, this activity is designed with a creative and fun approach, so as to increase children's interest in learning. Through the use of simple measuring tools such as rulers, scales and measuring cups, children not only learn to recognize concrete sizes, but also develop cognitive, motor and logical skills. The implementation of this learning supports the achievement of holistic early childhood education goals, namely forming an intelligent, critical and innovative generation from an early age. The research used the classroom action research (PTK) method which consisted of two cycles, involving 5 children aged 4–5 years as subjects. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation, then analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results of the research show that a play and experimental approach with simple measuring tools, such as rulers, stopwatches and weight scales, and clocks can increase children's understanding of the concept of measurement. Children become more active and enthusiastic in learning, with an increase in their ability to recognize length, determine body weight, recognize time and running speed. This research concludes that play and experimental approaches are effective for introducing measurement concepts to young children, as well as supporting the development of their fine motor and cognitive skills.

Abstract

The waqf mushaf program in Garut Village, Kopo District, Serang Regency, Banten, was part of the Student Community Service (KKM) initiative aimed at supporting religious education in the area. This activity arose from the identified need for Qur’anic manuscripts in local institutions, which significantly limited the effectiveness of Qur’anic learning. The program involved several stages: preparation, identifying the needs of the community, fundraising, the distribution of mushaf to madrasahs and Qur’anic centers, and evaluation. A participatory approach was employed, where the community actively participated as both donors and beneficiaries. This approach not only facilitated the smooth execution of the program but also ensured a sense of ownership and responsibility among the local people. The program received strong support, with high levels of community participation in fundraising and distribution activities. The results showed a marked improvement in access to Qur’anic learning, as teachers and students now had better resources to facilitate their study of the Qur'an. The distribution of mushaf not only enhanced the quality of education but also fostered a greater awareness of waqf as an important Islamic social instrument. Through this initiative, the community gained a deeper understanding of the value of waqf in contributing to religious education and promoting social welfare

Abstract

Pengabdian ini membahas penerapan metode eksperimen sederhana menggunakan telur dan air garam sebagai media pembelajaran Sain Dasar di SDN Buah Gede 1. Tujuan utamanya adalah meningkatkan pemahaman konsep massa jenis dan gaya apung pada siswa melalui pengalaman langsung. Metode penilitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek siswa kelas IV. Proses pembelajaran dilakukan dengan langkah-langkah eksperimen sederhana:menyiapkan air tawar, menambahkan garam, serta mengamati perubahan posisi telur dalam larutan. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan hasil penelitian menunujukkan bahwa metode eksperimen ini mampu menarik minat siswa, meningkatkan parsitipasi aktif, dan membuat konsep yang bersifat abstrak menjadi lebih mudah dipahami. Selain itu, pembelajaran berbasis eksperimen sederhana ini juga melatih keterampilan berpikir kritis dan rasa ingin tahu siswa. Dengan demikian, penggunaan eksperimen telur dan air garam dapat menjadi alternatif media pembelajaran sains yang efektif, murah, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa sekolah dasar. Pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) di sekolah dasar menuntut keterlibatan aktif peserta didik agar konsep-konsep sains dapat dipahami secara bermakna. Namun, pembelajaran IPAS di kelas IV masih sering dilaksanakan secara konvensional dan berpusat pada guru, sehingga siswa kurang aktif dan kesulitan memahami konsep abstrak, khususnya materi tentang benda mengapung, melayang, dan tenggelam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan secara mendalam penerapan metode eksperimen telur dan air garam sebagai media pembelajaran sains dasar IPAS kelas IV serta menganalisis dampaknya terhadap keaktifan dan pemahaman konsep siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode eksperimen telur dan air garam mampu meningkatkan partisipasi aktif siswa, mempermudah pemahaman konsep massa jenis dan daya apung, serta menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang lebih menarik dan menyenangkan. Metode ini dinilai efektif dan relevan diterapkan dalam pembelajaran IPAS di sekolah dasar.
