Abstract

The literacy ability of totally-blind students is still low. This is allegedly due to limited and conventional access of media. Alternative use of accessible media becomes an urgent thing to improve literacy ability for totally-blind students. The purpose of this research is to describe alternatively accessible media such as MiBee Braille for improving totally-blind students’ literacy ability. The method used is descriptive method with literature study analysis and supported by an observation one of totally-blind student. The result of this research is that the application can be used to write Braille with six-dot typing system, ten-finger typing system, and converts Ms. Word text into Braille text. Six-dot typing system makes totally-blind students easier to write other Braille symbols that cannot be found in Latin symbols.

Abstract

The use of website as an accessible media can be an alternative in learning to write Chinese text. The purpose of this research is to develop an accessible website which can improve the skill of writing simple conversational Chinese texts writing skills for totally-blind class XI students. The research method used is RnD with ADDIE model. The data were collected through interviews, observations, documentation studies, and tests. This research produced a website that was developed based on the analysis of students' ability profiles and the application of MiBee Braille application. Weicibi can improve students' writing skills as shown by an increase in the mean level of phase A1 of 29.25, phase B of 61, and phase A2 of 83. Weicibi has learning and translator features supported by video tutorials. The conclusion is that the Weicibi developed is feasible to use and be effective in improving the writing skills of totally-blind students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe teachers’ strategies in implementing Civics Education (PPKn) learning for students with physical and motor impairments in inclusive elementary schools. The research was motivated by the challenges teachers face in creating fair and participatory learning for all students, particularly those with limited physical abilities who often experience barriers in mobility, accessibility, and classroom participation. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis with five Civics teachers from three inclusive elementary schools in East Jakarta. The findings revealed that teachers adopted adaptive strategies through the modification of lesson plans, the use of visual and digital media, and the application of participatory methods involving peer buddies. The main challenges identified were limited school facilities, time constraints, and insufficient inclusive pedagogy training. These issues were addressed through collaboration among classroom teachers, special education teachers, and school principals. The study concludes that strong collaboration within the school community is essential to achieving inclusive PPKn learning, as it fosters empathy, tolerance, and appreciation for diversity. Effective strategies in inclusive Civics Education must emphasize adaptation, collaboration, and humanization as tangible manifestations of Pancasila values in the classroom.

Abstract

Parents' and teachers' unrecognized talents and learning difficulties in children between the ages of two and five often cause children to lose opportunities to develop according to their potential and talents. Parents' and teachers' lack of understanding of the learning difficulties experienced by gifted children causes them to fail to achieve their potential. To reduce the failure rate among gifted children, researchers conducted development research using the Hannafin and Peck Research and Development model, as well as data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation studies at the Bloom Child Development Center in Bekasi City. The results of this study show that the instruments developed are easy for teachers at the Bloom Child Development Center in Bekasi City to understand and use in identifying learning difficulties in gifted children at the perceptual-motor stage of development (2-5 years). These instruments consist of: instruments for identifying gifted children and identifying learning development at the perceptual-motor and cognitive stages through the elaboration of theories of giftedness and child development.

Abstract

This qualitative investigation examines how Indonesian primary schools incorporate digital civic competence as a means of advancing Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions). Employing a descriptive qualitative approach with thematic analysis methodology, the research analyzes national educational frameworks, scholarly discourse, and institutional practices within the contexts of Kurikulum Merdeka, Profil Pelajar Pancasila, and Adiwiyata (Green School) initiatives. Results indicate growing integration of digital civic education through project-based learning, digital narrative approaches, and responsible online participation that cultivate learners' analytical capabilities and civic consciousness. Nevertheless, substantial obstacles remain, including insufficient educator capacity, disparate technological access across regions, and limited development of context-specific ethical guidelines. The research offers a novel theoretical framework by synthesizing Pancasila values with digital civic education and sustainability principles, positioning moral, civic, and technological literacy as interconnected elements within transformative pedagogical practice. This integrated perspective highlights the necessity for systematic policy execution, continuous professional learning for educators, and culturally responsive instructional approaches to foster inclusive, ethically grounded, and sustainable digital educational ecosystems consistent with SDG targets.

Abstract

Children with intellectual disabilities often have difficulty understanding abstract concepts, including basic arithmetic operations in mathematics.  A Learning media was designed to bridge the gap in abstract understanding through a visual and interactive approach. The method used is research and development (RD) with the Hannafin Peck model through three stages: needs assessment, design, and development and implementation. The results of the implementation of learning media in the form of GeHi calculation boards as visual-interactive tools in basic mathematics learning for fourth-grade children with intellectual disabilities showed an increase in the ability to add and subtract with results below 100. This is shown by the improvement in the abilities of the four students, such as: increased motivation to learn mathematics, ability to order numbers from smallest to largest and vice versa, ability to distinguish and name numbers (units, tens, and hundreds) based on color coding, and ability to explain the steps of addition and subtraction using the downward pattern using the GeHi counting board.
