Abstract

The beginning reading poses challenges for second-grade elementary school students, impacting their learning outcomes. This research aims to identify the factors hindering the beginning reading ability of second-grade elementary school students. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach, and data sources include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques involve data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research subjects are second-grade students of SD Negeri 10 Kandis, South Sumatra. The results reveal that the factors inhibiting the beginning reading ability of second-grade students at SD Negeri 10 Kandis include both internal and external factors. Internal factors comprise students' laziness in reading, lack of motivation, lack of interest, lack of attention during learning, low memory retention making it difficult to remember letters, and lack of focus in reading. External factors include family and school-related factors. Family-related factors include busy working parents leading to lack of attention, insufficient parental guidance, and limited interaction and communication with the child. School-related factors include the absence of daily literacy activities before starting lessons, lack of reading corners or literacy corners, unappealing and dull teaching approaches and strategies by teachers, and infrequent use of provided media or teaching aids by the school.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan suatu produk pengembangan bahan ajar Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik Berbasis Make a Match yang memenuhi kriteria valid dan praktis sehingga siswa mampu menguasai pembelajaran matematika  pada materi bangun ruang dengan mudah. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan atau Research and Development. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) dan di deskripsikan secara terperinci dari tahap melakukan spesifikasi produk, Flowchart, Storyboard, pengembangan produk, validasi para ahli, serta mengujikan pada peserta didik. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri 32 Palembang. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dari angket validasi ahli dan angket respon siswa. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan angket validasi dari tim ahli menilai kualitas tampilan media, penggunaan bahasa dan penyajian materi yang secara keseluruhan memperoleh skor persentase 86,05% dengan kategori sangat valid. Angket kepraktisan keseluruhan siswa memperoleh skor persentase 85,87% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Berdasarkan hasil yang telah dikembangkan oleh peneliti yang berjudul pengembangan lembar kerja peserta didik berbasis model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match(mencari pasangan) pada materi bangun ruang kelas V SD disimpulkan bahwa LKPD Berbasis Make a Match yang telah dikembangkan sudah memenuhi kriteria valid dan praktis.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Joyful Learning approach on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 109 Palembang regarding the topic of fictional texts. The study employed a true experimental method using a posttest-only control group design. The research population consisted of all fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 109 Palembang, with a sample of 57 students selected via random sampling—comprising 28 students in the experimental class and 29 in the control class. Data were collected through multiple-choice learning outcome tests and analyzed using an independent sample t-test. The results indicate that the average learning outcome score in the experimental class was higher than that of the control class (83 versus 66). Hypothesis testing yielded a significance value of 0.031 (p < 0.05); consequently, the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the Joyful Learning approach has a significant effect on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 109 Palembang regarding the topic of fictional texts.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low Indonesian language learning outcomes of third-grade elementary school students and the less optimal use of engaging and interactive learning media. The use of animated videos as learning media is expected to improve students' understanding and learning outcomes. This study aimed to determine the effect of using animated videos on the Indonesian language learning outcomes of third-grade elementary school students. This research employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group design. The population consisted of all third-grade elementary school students, while the samples were experimental and control classes selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through pretests and posttest. The data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing with the t-test. The results indicated that there was a difference in learning outcomes between students who learned using animated video media and those who learned through conventional instruction. The average posttest score of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of animated videos has a positive effect on the Indonesian language learning outcomes of third-grade elementary school students.
