Abstract

Sustainable development is a global imperative achieved through environmentally conscious policies, green technology adoption, and efficient waste management. This comprehensive review examines the intertwined roles of environmental policy, green technologies, and waste management in advancing sustainability. It investigates the significance of policy and governance in setting environmental standards, emphasizes green technologies' transformative potential, explores renewable energy integration, delves into sustainable urban planning, and underscores effective waste management. Environmental policy and governance establish the framework for environmental protection, necessitating robust policies and penalties. Green technologies drive sustainability by curbing emissions and optimizing resource use across sectors. Integrating renewables demands smart grid innovation for stability. Sustainable urban planning fosters eco-friendly cities with energy-efficient buildings, public transit, and waste strategies. Waste management policies encourage reduction, recycling, and safe disposal. Aligning policy, green tech, and waste management is pivotal for sustainable development.

Abstract

The present study investigates the association between gender and body mass index (BMI) status through a comprehensive statistical analysis. A diverse sample of participants was utilized to examine the prevalence and distribution of different BMI categories among males and females. Statistical techniques, including crosstabulation, chi-square tests, and correlation analysis, were employed to analyze the data and determine the significance of the relationship. The results of the analysis revealed distinct gender-specific variations in BMI status. Among females, the majority fell into the normal weight category (n=89, 49.0%), while males showed a higher prevalence of overweight (n=32, 21.5%). The crosstabulation table further demonstrated the distribution of participants across gender and BMI status categories, providing valuable insights into the prevalence of specific BMI statuses among males and females. The chi-square tests confirmed a significant association between gender and BMI status (p < 0.001), indicating that gender significantly influenced the likelihood of being in specific BMI categories. This finding emphasizes the importance of considering gender-specific factors in understanding and addressing BMI-related health disparities. The correlation analysis revealed a moderate positive association between gender and BMI status (r=0.205, p < 0.001), indicating that as gender changed from female to male, there was a tendency for BMI status to shift from lower categories to higher categories.

There is evidence that mindfulness practices can enhance the mental health and exist over how stress, anxiety, and depression are affected. In this study, the post-graduate students of Odisha were assessed to see how well mindfulness treated their stress, anxiety, and depression symptoms. Objective: To assess the impact of mindfulness on stress, anxiety, and depression among the post-graduate students of Odisha. Methods: Several articles were searched from different online platforms like PubMed, PsycINFO, Google scholar etc. After searching many articles, the data were collected from online survey among the post-graduate students of Odisha by using two questionnaires; those are “FFMQ-15” and DASS-21. The data collected from the post-graduate students inviting them to take part in the online and offline survey during the academic year 2021-2022. This study was selected only as a sample here for the post-graduate students of Odisha. The present study was conducted on the sample of 220. The data were calculated through statistical package for social sciences (SPSS-20 version). Findings: The result shows that the mindfulness reduced stress, anxiety, and depression of post-graduate students of Odisha. The participants reported considerably bigger gains in mindfulness as well as greater decrease in stress, anxiety, and depression. Implication of the Study: The study's findings will raise awareness among the post-graduate students or people from all lifestyles.
