AbstrakPenelitian yang dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 1 Tuhemberua Kabupaten Nias Utara ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode contextual teaching and learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika. Metode penelitian eksperimen dengan desain post test only control grup ini menetapkan populasi target yaitu seluruh siswa yang terdaftar di SMP Negeri 1 Tuhemberua untuk tahun akademik 2024-2025. Adapun populasi terjangkau dalam penelitian ini terbatas hanya siswa kelas VII sebanyak 45 siswa. Pengambilan sampel berdasar pada populasi terjangkau dengan teknik multistage sampling yang dalam hal ini berupa simpel random sampling kemudian purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa soal bentuk uraian sebanyak sembilan butir yang sudah divalidasi secara empiris. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dan secara inferensial yang terlebih dahulu dilakukan uji persyaratan analisis berupa uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis, penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan metode contextual teaching and learning terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika.Kata kunci: eksperimen, model pembelajaran CTL, kemampuan pemecahan masalah THE EFFECT OF THE CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING METHOD ON MATHEMATICAL PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITYAbstractThe This study, conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Tuhemberua, North Nias Regency, aimed to determine the effect of the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) method on mathematical problem-solving ability. Employing an experimental method with a post-test-only control group design, the target population consisted of all students enrolled at SMP Negeri 1 Tuhemberua in the 2024–2025 academic year. The accessible population was limited to 45 seventh-grade students. Sampling was carried out from the accessible population using a multistage sampling technique, which in this case involved simple random sampling followed by purposive sampling. The research instrument consisted of nine open-ended questions that had been empirically validated. Data analysis was performed both descriptively and inferentially, preceded by assumption testing including normality and homogeneity tests. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that the contextual teaching and learning method has a significant effect on mathematical problem-solving ability.Keywords: CTL learning model, experiment, problem-solving ability
