Abstract

The development of the tourism sector is starting to return with various new concepts to attract tourists, including the development of Educational Tourism or Edu-tourism. The result of this edu-tourism area is inseparable from the background of the tourist attraction area, which is considered to have characteristics and selling points that can attract tourists. No exception was made at Rembat Beach, Juntinyuat Village, Indramayu Regency. This research was conducted using a descriptive method with a qualitative approach to describe the development of a disaster education tourism model with market penetration, product development, and market development. In addition, product development and market development were also carried out, which increased visits by 12% and provided additional village income with an average of Rp1,200,000/month. The last effort related to product diversification still requires a study of the success of abrasion-based edu-tourism development.

Abstract

Climate change exerts multifaceted and profound adverse effects on coastal ecosystems, with Juntinyuat Village, located in Indramayu Regency, serving as a case study of impacted regions. Key consequences include accelerated coastal erosion and the escalation of high wave intensity, both of which pose escalating risks to the livelihoods of populations engaged in tourism, agriculture, and small-scale enterprises. This study aims to analyse the mitigation program implemented through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach of PT Pertamina Gas Operation West Java Area (OWJA) with the "Perisai Jaga Bumi" program. This program involves various community groups in disaster mitigation efforts through mangrove conservation, economic empowerment of vulnerable communities, and the preservation of local culture and wisdom. The study's results show that integrating natural and cultural potential in the CSR strategy can strengthen community resilience against climate change impacts in terms of environment, society, and economy, while also promoting sustainable development in disaster-prone coastal areas. This program is expected to serve as a reference for other regions with similar conditions in Indonesia.

Abstract

The reduction of carbon emissions has gained increasing attention in Indonesia, particularly in the industrial regions of Kalimantan Island. The Martadinata Village Forest, which directly borders the operational area of PT Pertamina Gas Operation Kalimantan Area, is now under threat due to the prevalence of illegal logging activities. The natural ecosystem, water resources, and vegetation within the Kutai National Park conservation area have become targets of irresponsible illegal actions. Through the Jaga Hutan Borneo program, PT Pertamina Gas Operation Kalimantan Area, in collaboration with the Village Government, TNK (Kutai National Park), the Kampung Bersama Tourism Awareness Group, and the Forum for Environmental Care, initiated a program aimed at preserving the ecology of the Martadinata forest through sustainable tourism. This tourism development strategy is implemented using a multi-stakeholder approach, focusing on forest conservation, environmental education, and the promotion of environmentally friendly alternative economic activities. The program not only protects carbon absorption areas but also empowers the community through conservation-based economic initiatives

Abstract

Poverty in coastal communities is a complex structural issue influenced by low levels of education, skills, access to capital and technology, as well as high dependency on marine capture fisheries. This study aims to develop Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategies that contribute to poverty alleviation while supporting Indonesia’s national goals for sustainable development. The case study was conducted in Juntinyuat Village, Indramayu, by utilizing the potential of fisheries and local resources. The methods applied include mapping community potentials and needs, capacity building, and implementing empowerment programs. The findings reveal that the CSR program of PT Pertamina Gas OWJA through JAWARA has improved the welfare of coastal communities through: (1) empowering fishermen’s families and youth with fishery product processing training, (2) waste management based on a circular economy approach through sorting, shredding, and utilization of recyclable plastics, (3) coastal disaster mitigation by planting protective vegetation, and (4) renewable energy utilization via solar power (PLTS) to support community economic activities. The results highlight that a participatory CSR approach not only creates cost efficiency and increases household income but also strengthens socio-economic resilience and environmental sustainability in coastal communities. This CSR program has the potential to serve as a sustainable strategy model to support Indonesia’s poverty eradication agenda while preserving coastal ecosystems.

Abstract

Sustainable community development is a goal of a country and companies can realize this goal. As stakeholders in the community, companies can implement Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) in communities that intersect with the operational area. Community empowerment programs aim to create positive contributions to economic improvement, environmental preservation, and better social realization. PT Pertamina Gas Operation Kalimantan Area is an operational unit of PT Pertamina Gas under the auspices of Subholding Gas, PT Pertamina Gas Negara has implemented community empowerment programs, one of which is in Martadinata village, Teluk Pandan District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. One of the programs that has been successful in Martadinata village is the Marta Tani Mandiri program. Starting from the community's habit of using chemical fertilizers and fuel oil in managing agriculture, PT Pertamina Gas Operation Kalimantan Area tries to change these habits to create green agriculture. The embodiment of green agriculture is that Martadinata village farmers are able to manage agricultural land by prioritizing low environmental impact and are able to contribute to environmental improvement. The implementation of sustainable agriculture using self-sufficient agricultural products and the implementation of new and renewable energy can change habits and engage farmers in sustainable environmental protection. Beyond environmental concerns, the ongoing program has also improved the social and economic quality of life.
